Re: Telegram Desktop ends support of Windows XP
Do you have try with the compatibility mode? You can force NT6 compatibility, sometimes it works for some software. Does not work too... exactly the same message about missing procedure entry point CompareStringEx not located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. So , are there enough NT 6.x do...

Re: Telegram Desktop ends support of Windows XP
Finally it happens, version 1.9.3 (what I tested) does not work under ROS. See here https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-16617 https://jira.reactos.org/secure/attachment/55677/VirtualBox_ROSTelegram193..png Last working version under ROS is 1.8.15 . https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/releas...

Re: Telegram abandona el soprte para Windows XP
Desde la versión 1.9.3 en adelante ya no funciona en ReactOS.
La versión 1.8.15 es la última que si funciona.

Re: Intel deletes old drivers
Yes, intel deletes its old drivers as there are plenty of new drivers uploaded daily. Also, to maintain the old driver is a big task for intel, So they keep on deleting the old driver of machines which are discontinued. -- Lewis So tell to all people who needs these drivers, specially ReactOS proje...

¡Intel deletes old drivers!... like those ones ReactOS needs to be used in Intel hardware. https://www.zdnet.com/article/intel-to-remove-old-drivers-and-bios-updates-from-its-site-by-the-end-of-the-week/ Despite archive webs, those who have original CD with Intel hardware drivers for Windows 98, XP,...

Re: Elite Dangerous/Star Citizen
But the true question is,... ...can ReactOS run Duke Nukem Forever ? If it works under Windows XP, you can try running it under ReactOS, with "Mesa 3D" installed. Just make an .iso with the game and Mesa 3D to mount it under VirtualBox, QEMU in ROS. Do you have any link to download this g...

Re: What would happen to the ReactOS project if Microsoft decided to make Windows open source, and will it ever happen?
That's the whole point. NOT all core components are THEIRS to "open source", and they cannot cleanly separate them without having to re-develop parts. I just gave an example, but the issue is general. It has to do with the problem that licenses can be given for specific usage manners... b...

Re: What would happen to the ReactOS project if Microsoft decided to make Windows open source, and will it ever happen?
The problem, and why their legal department killed the idea: Windows contains a lot of third-party-code which has been licensed by the respective companies to Microsoft, and which MS does NOT OWN. And hence, a release of this code would give rise to claims AGAINST MS by said third parties. - There ...

Re: TheRegister: "ReactOS ‘a ripoff of the Windows Research Kernel’ claims Microsoft kernel engineer"
Yeah, but in a negative way. It would most likely give the project a bad public reputation though, because if people suspected that ReactOS is using pirated code from Windows then there will be a lot of criticism and legal issues to come. Everyone would just lose faith and call the project dishones...
