Re: Can development focus be switched from XP to Windows 10?

yah, I was struggling with finding a way to launch cmd.exe (anything actually), untill I just went to Explorer, opened system32 folder and found there that frigging cmd.exe, but in no way Windows 10 is "junky". It's great. And it feels from the very start - it worked better with my 2011 laptop...

Re: How to Run Reactos on Playstation 2

:D
yes, you got it wrong.

linux imitates unix, it fails to imitate Windows (any) yet about 20 years.
React OS is a clone of Windows NT (5.2 currently). It tries to recreate Windows at the binary compatibility level.

Re: Filesystems support in FreeLdr

And also, the OP does confuse an Installable File System "to install ReactOS on it" case with the loader FS support to boot the OS from case. It's different things. For the first, a full implementation of the FS, with all integration into the system, fully featured driver is needed. For the second, ...

Re: ReactOS (USB) TO GO

BIOS could do this too. UEFI should. But for the OS not having its own USB stack support, there should have been a special means to load everything needed into RAM, not only what an ordinary boot process loads. Thus, for a "live" OS session, kind of "ramdisk" should have been prepared and then loade...

Re: Intel to ditch CSM from UEFI in 2020, effects on ROS??

OSses that were developed with only a BIOS-based system firmware architecture in mind How do you know that? "Coreboot guys" told you that BS? These OSes were based on the previous versions capable running on Alpha, PPC and MIPS architectures, none of which had BIOS FW. And these systems were develo...

Re: The source code

Oh, sorry, I've just noticed I misread his post, he actually says its OS does need underlying services. Also, it does need an underlying NT BASED system to run Sorry, Redline_1, my bad. So it boils down to the GUI-less OS. But hey, that doesn't mean you don't need to know asm/C to create something o...

No one's having trouble understanding what a Batch OS is, we all know what an IBM mainframe is. We don't understand if he's trying to make an actual batch-processing OS (no, not like Linux, nothing like Linux, or the actual Unixes that came decades before it, not even like DOS, not even like ITS, n...

You're saying it's fine to have forums for all countries around Romania but not for Romanian? It's easy to understand that you see that as a discrimination, but haven't you taken a look at this moment, let me show you, here is the "last posts" from a couple of Romania surrounding countries' subforu...

Re: How did you know about ReactOS?

Of course software could damage hardware. How did you forget about overclocking? As Michael mentioned - raising voltages too high could damage related modules. OC requires overvoltage. There is "dangerous" hardware parts like CRT monitors, impropoer configuring the underlying VGA controllers could m...
