Re: EPIC WIN!

I got Leocad and LDcad to run, but they won't render anything, so they are useless, but slight success regardless. [The following is false.] Also, in case you are wondering, Lego Digital Designer won't run at all. Edit: I think the Leocad and LDcad may have to do with the 3D capabilities of ReactOS ...

Re: EPIC WIN!

Hey any specific kinds of apps you need tested in this category of testing? Just remember some people getting angry because I tested a lot of old Windows and DOS apps.

Re: Comment on why some games may run too fast in NTVDM

An end user could get a slow-down TSR and make sure it is loaded before their game. DOS used TSR (terminate and stay resident) programs that stayed resident and hooked onto interrupts to do certain things. In a way, they functioned much like services. Some of the TSR type programs included programs...

Re: Comment on why some games may run too fast in NTVDM

Answer: currently our timing emulation is quite inaccurate (because we haven't focused on it, but just enough so that keyboard & mouse IRQs are almost correctly emitted), we don't compute time slices etc... : we are in fact always in "turbo mode" i.e. we always execute as many instructions as we ca...

Re: Comment on why some games may run too fast in NTVDM

You'd only have to slow down the virtual CPU or the time slices getting to it. You would not have to slow down the real CPU. I don't think I mentioned anything along the lines of real or virtual, just trying to correct something I said in the past. But, quick question: Can you do that in ReactOS's ...

Comment on why some games may run too fast in NTVDM

A while ago I tested the 1st Mega Man DOS game and mentioned it ran too fast. Some more tested with the same game and another and both FreeDOS and DOSBox relieved that some DOS games (mostly older ones) will one on the max available cycles with no means of slowing down. The only way to fix the speed...

Is there anyway to get a VESA game to work?

One of the DOS games I have been testing for a while uses VESA, I was wondering if it was possible for ReactOS to play that game. Just trying to find out. Also if it can't be done now is it possible to add in the future. In case anyone needs to know, the game is DOS Mugen, and the version is Mug1041...

Re: EPIC WIN!

Actually hbelusca, the purpose of my thread is explained here: (...) the sole purpose is to show programs that are able to run in ReactOS, either partially or completely . No technical details required when you add your working programs. It's true that it would be better if would see programs which...

Re: EPIC WIN!

Let me recall the aim of the Epic WIN thread: to report apps that were known to not work on previous versions of ReactOS, and now, are working (this also includes big fat complex apps that almost never worked on ROS but suddently works). Please don't report simple apps that are so simple that they ...

Re: Epic NTVDM

It would useful, if contrubtors to the EPIC win topics, gave the revision number of the software and also the revision or release number for ReactOS that they have used for testing, also if the test was in real hardware or in an emulator. Good tip. Edit: I edited the info to include as much as that...
