Re: You Have No Idea How Bad I Want This to Work

The project requires anyone who wants commit access to be able to communicate at least passably in English. All commit messages are in English and need to be understandable.

Re: CIRRUS ONE freeloader question

Jira is not used for asking questions, it is only used for reporting and tracking bugs or work being done by the developers. The reason no one's answered your questions is probably because no one can understand what you're asking. You've been extremely vague on what it is you want to know, or what i...

Probably around $8-9K on the low end.

Re: Proposals for REALLY pushing this project forward

Reverse engineering Windows components to learn about them is perfectly fine. De-compiling Windows components to directly put said decompiled code into ReactOS is a copyright violation and illegal and will piss us off monumentally if someone attempts it. The majority of Linux kernel developers are n...

Re: You Have No Idea How Bad I Want This to Work

You're assuming it's the same people doing the same things. Pretty much none of the developers do any translation work. Any time you see them applying a translation fix, it's usually a patch that someone else wrote and they're just doing routine maintenance.

Spambots trying to be clever

Just a general note, the couple of posts we've gotten from 'new' accounts are from spambots. What they're doing now is trying to embed links into the posts that they quote in place of say user names and post links. However over those links and it becomes immediately apparent what they are doing. Or ...

Re: General Testing for 0.4.2

1) Take this discussion to a different thread.

2) You don't determine differences between revisions by looking at diffs of binary blobs, you look at source code changes.

Re: Blog: Google SoC lwIP Report Week 10

I don't think Dian's bothered building with GCC since he started using windbg in order to debug the driver.

Re: General Testing for 0.4.2

That's not a livecd, Victor.

We do not test livecds while preparing a release, since whether a livecd works or not does not tell us anything useful about application compatibility.

Re: 16-bit Windows Program Support

Your points were answered multiple times, Vincent. And yet you keep repeating them. This creates the impression that you either did not understand previous responses or you're ignoring them. If you don't understand, ask questions. If you do understand, there is no need to keep repeating requests.

Re: 16-bit Windows Program Support

Daniel, might want to watch your blood pressure there. Vincent, you need to read much more carefully and be a lot more explicit in your posts. The way you worded one of your earlier posts implies you want 16bit applications bundled in ReactOS itself. That will never happen. The posts that you wrote ...

Re: IRC client

If that IRC client was built using VS 2013 or newer by default the compiled PE does not work on XP, you have to manually specify targeting XP.

Re: IRC client

If it works on Windows (XP or 2003) and doesn't on ReactOS, it's our fault, not the application's.

Re: 0.4.0 is out

Not quite true. XP SP3 basically shifted XP over to the 2k3 codebase.
