Re: Appreciation to Developers

Is there a way to invoke the very comprehensive file system check that I used to see every time the system was not properly shut down? Sure, just enable autochk in registry. But it was disabled on purpose due to bugs, it can corrupt filesystem even more. See this change for reference: https://git.r...

Re: Appreciation to Developers

After one false start (a nightly that wouldn't install) I 'upgraded' to the last 20200128 using 'U.' One oddity just noticed is there appear to be multiple copies of several folders on C. The Recycle Bin is one of them. These are not actually copies of the folders, though, but additional views of t...

The cmd.exe of ReactOS is better. And they have two different versions of the Taskmanager. Same with some other programs and libaries which goes other ways.
Not big surprise, since they are not developing an OS, but running software in existing OS that already have its own system specific tools.

Re: EPIC WIN!

Oh yes.. and Quake One too. https://i.imgur.com/tc4tBbG.png In this case, the Darkplaces engine. Slow on this emulated ReactOS but it shoots! It would be good if someone could test Darkplaces on real hardware running ReactOS and post a video link. This win is not that epic... there are ammo shells ...

Well, I want let it run on Windows.
You can ask CrystalMath, who developed our NTVDM, in the ReactOS chat: https://chat.reactos.org/

As far I as remember he was able to run it on Windows, maybe some patch is needed.

But when I try to run ntvdm.exe, It won't start
What did you expect from it? As far as I know, it cannot be started like that, even in Windows.

If you want a command prompt, just start cmd.exe

Re: reactos驱动问题

I finally figure out what is wrong. There is a problem with the ACPI of my motherboard, and it isn't compact with any version of Windows before Windows 7. I searched this problem on internet, but no one meet the same problem, so I just give up. Since ReactOS is open source, you can try adding a wor...

Re: mupdf

I noticed in the EPIC WIN! thread that someone got mupdf 1.6 working. I'm very curious as to why it worked on that system and isn't working on mine. PROTIP: You can quote a post from another thread, and post author will get a notification. ;) MuPDF 1.6 @Pi_User5 : your help is needed here.

Re: observation: middleware use, and msvcr100.dll

1. Run RAPPS (ReactOS Applications Manager)
2. Enter msvcr100 in the search box
3. Download the dependencies using it

Everything is simple, no need to create another one.

Re: What is Exactly Flowchart of C Course

I have tried the last 2 months to learn c by itself but now i am looking to online c course to become an expert in c. What about this one? https://reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=137891#p137891 But I think it's better to be able to write programs and algorithms in C rather than be an expert in la...

Re: ReactOS updater

initially I have written down these on the related Wiki page's Discussion part, yet I needed feedback for the naive suggestions and created the post. We don't use our wiki for communication and talks (don't expect any replies on it), we use forums and the chat. Reddit is okay too, but better use of...

Reactos need a chinese input, unispim is a opensourece Chinese input method, but it can not run in reactos.
https://github.com/thunisoft/unispim
Ask Katayama Hirofumi MZ in ReactOS Chat, he is working on CJK support.
