Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
HOKAY. Good news, and bad. ROS-preloaded is installed on VirtualBox in a W2K3 environment, and lights up beautifully. I even found how to get the CD-DVD to show its contents :D So this afternoon, tried to install Lotus, Release 9.8.X, with everything except FastSite, current user only, using the Set...

Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
ROS != W7 internally, thats why W2k3. Thanks for that EmuandCo, it's good to be stretched sometimes :) I never got to use anything between W2K and W7, apart from a brief lesson in XP on how not to treat customers... So I didn't appreciate how far MS had come with W7, and the fact that it be...

Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
First, we get Oracle's VirtualBox: Go to: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads Thanks karlexceed - Normally I like being different, but since I don't know why the rules exist (It's a joke!!!) I'll use VirtualBox. Is there any reason W7 isn't mentioned in the line-up? And while we're here, what...

Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
VM is an initialism for Virtual Machine... Hi. Thanks for the reply. I've done a bit of homework, downloaded the current VMWare Player (but not installed it yet), and downloaded the current Preloaded on VMWare. I've also just installed KVIrc, but (as usual) have no idea how to use it, but I have fo...

Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
what about implementing a VM in virtualbox? (i prefer vbox rather than vmware) OK, er... I know enough to start this computer, light up my apps, connect the router, and print stuff. What's the difference between VM and virtualbox? Seriously, I'm ignorant. I need tuition in words of one or fe...

Re: Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
PS. Has anyone tried to install/run SmartSuite on ROS? Problem with being semi-retired and enjoying every working day: I am thinking heavily of investing time in putting a VM on this box (Gigabyte H61M-USB3-B3 r2.0, I5-2400 3.10GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 2x500GB + 1x3TB SATA, GSATA, PS/2, W7HPx64) but lack...

Office Suite? Lotus SmartSuite!
Just running by vicmarcal's blog, "Contributions: MS Office 2003", < https://www.reactos.org/node/771 > and it reminded me. Lotus SmartSuite, comprising WordPro, 123, Approach, Freelance and Organiser, not to mention the SmartCenter which interfaces directly with Organiser... And FastSite ...

Me again. Ah, Mods: if this has been canvassed before, feel free to tell me/delete the thread. I did search, but nothing surfaced. [Edit:] OK, youse do have TWAIN in hand. Didn't do a global search, did I? [/Edit] I once made the mistake of downloading and trying to use The GIMP. OK, the lear...

 Ah yes, SP5 :P What can we say? Remind me to tell youse the story of the "Holden That Never Was" one day 8-) @milon: It will have a classic desktop and so forth... I expected ROS would have applets like Windows, and the really good news is that like in Windows, I can simply delete wh...

Hi - I'm a "Senior Citizen" (read Baby Boomer) in West Oz. I like computers, starting with my beloved C64. Anyway, having suffered through the W9x -- DOS wasn't too bad -- and finally found Microsoft's only worthwhile offering in W2K Pro SP4 rollup 1, they went and removed support!!!!!! :e...
