Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd

This is a start at finding out if any laptops will run Reactos bootcd yet, "out of the box". Just put the cd in and boot into setup and install to a working desktop. Please do not use this place for anything else, or it will become too cluttered. State Make, Model, Revision build of Reactos, Motherb...

Re: Does PR-Team need a "standard" ROS-Laptop ?

Maybe we should start a new topic with a tiltle.

"What laptops will install and run Reactos on which revision/build"

This would be a great starting point for a hardware compatibility database.

Yes, we should all attempt it on a weekly basis with the trunk builds and report our bugs, we are trying to achieve a Beta status and need hardware support to progress.

Re: Pr team working mode

A person would only be searching for a free alternative to Windows if they had some inkling that such a thing existed, which certainly never occurred to me. I agree. But if you note my post referred to searching for "free operating systems" I did not mention Windows in the search words. Now this is...

Why does Bootcd fail and Livecd succeed

I have tried both of the same version (R57042 and others a few before) on real hardware, the Livecd boots to desktop without any issue, but the bootcd is unable to progress past the 2nd stage setup. At the welcome wizard, where the system awaits input from the user to continue, there is no response ...

Re: Pr team working mode

There are quite a few if you google them, here is an example I found, http://www.codeproject.com/Members/Toby-Opferman. My thoughts on this are that any Windows developer with the skills required would already be aware of the Reactos project. Guess they are too busy and have no spare time. After all...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

@Tecno Mage Thank you for the test review, very well formatted and informative, will look forward to these weekly reviews. Is it possible to also review on real hardware, just functionality following installation (if setup was achieved) would be good. Can we have a new topic for this Weekly Build Re...

DOSGuy stated: I've served on and chaired many volunteer committees over the years. This is the experience we need! DOSGuy commented: The best thing to do when everyone is a volunteer is ask them what they want to do, and discuss how the group can help them do it. He also has the correct approach in...

Re: Livecd 56875 dbg setup initialization failed

Trunk R57028 cures this problem with the LiveCD. Probably the updated uniata version sync a few revisions back. So I downloaded the bootCD version to install on the HDD of my waiting Dell Latitude 110L, went sweet to the second setup stage but am unable to progress as there is no active curser (touc...
