Re: ReactOS Application Manager

DirectX from WINE works quite well in ROS. Surely, real hardware performance is still medicore due to lack of hardware opengl acceleration, but still i dont see anything against Dx games. The DirectX implementation in both Wine and ReactOS is still quite incomplete, but you are right. If OpenGL was...

Re: Web Server for RoS

That web server accept cgi and fastcgi, and the best... it's GPL. Unfortunally is BSD, not GPL. :| BSD code, when modified, can still be relicensed to GPL. Heck, it doesn't even necessarily have to be modified. However, when being relicensed, you need to use a different name for the code. That woul...

Re: ReactOS Application Manager

I think i have said this before, games were about to be excluded from 0.3.10 release,at the end we decide to keep it. A future idea is to create a list of GAMES(only games) working in ROS. May I ask why games would be removed? It doesn't really matter to me either way, I'm just interested in what w...

Re: ReactOS Application Manager

Very nice, it should replace the Downloader quite well. Though it seems it is supposed to replace both the Downloader and the Add/Remove Programs applet...

Re: Web Server for RoS

Yeah, but Abyss isn't GPL, and my idea, is integrate Pi3web in the OS, like IIS in Windows. So you are asking for somebody to develop MMC modules/CPL applets to centrally manage and configure websites using Pi3web in ReactOS and make it available as a "server" component? Given that Pi3Web is very l...

Re: ReactOS on KOhjinsha

Dont we have one of those EULAs which cleans our hands in case of "corruption, destroying or erasing any information stored"? I think we have said more than 1346677 time we are in Alpha state, there are references in forum,in webpages...etc.Now ReactOS is quite usable at least for my basics(Internet...

Re: Element Software partnership?

MD5 checksums are not the most reliable. Use SHA1 or SHA256 to verify instead. MD5 is 16-byte checksum. There is a fair chance it will collide with (read "be the same as") a checksum from completely different file. Also point of having checksum is to check you downloaded the file correctly, not tha...

You mean lack of support for certain hardware. Instability has nothing to do with it, it's actually quite stable.
When did that happen?

Re: Element Software partnership?

Please, find evidence before throwing unnecessary comments. Ok, let's try with the first evidence I have in my hand. STEP 1 Go to: http://www.elementsoftware.co.uk/elementkit/#Versions_of_ElementKit STEP 2 Find that every single source version link points to: http://www.elementsoftware.co.uk/elemen...

Re: Element Software partnership?

Pharaoh_Atem: well since Kestrel hasnt been released for public use yet (and it will not be released until beta) there is no need to build additional shells for the time bieng, since we are focusing on the functionality of the engine itself (we dont even need the shell to do that. ) Do you have a l...

Re: Element Software partnership?

Sorry, it is getting late :/ No i meant there is a Win32 dll and shell compiled , but kestrel is coded in C++, so it can be compiled for any OS. The only target needed is for the host, which would be the shell. I just used .NET as an example. You could host kestrel in a GTK, VB Winforms or even a C...

A library that only works with Win32 is not cross platform. That's practically the opposite.

Re: Element Software partnership?

YouTube as it stands right now in kestrel. Not very well. :P The Kestrel user agent string Is Kestrel cross platform? If it is, you definitely will want to rewrite that shell of yours to be portable as well. I'm guessing its also .NET 3.0. If it is rewritten to work in Mono, then the test shell wou...

Re: Element Software partnership?

Well, you could just make Element Browser 2.x use Mono instead of rewriting the whole thing. Although a lot of the .NET 3.0 stuff would need to be rewritten. If you are going to rewrite it, you could still use .NET with Mono, instead of rewriting to pure C++ or WTL. You could even use a Ribbon beca...
