Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

I dunno i'm not sure. I would really like to see some stuff like JACK in windows. Though i'm not sure it should be in by default. I think it would be awesome but many wont, and I don't want anyone else's bloat. So how can I force my stuff on them. How well would this work on low end pc's or pda's? ...

Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

I made a wiki page about MIDI in ReactOS.

Anyone who has more information regarding this topic should contribute.

Re: [suggestion] FluidSynth for MIDI backend

It's from my understanding that MIDI doesn't work at all yet in ReactOS. In this topic , while discussing the feasibility of supporting soundfonts, it was brought up by Pharoh_Atem that we could compile FluidSynth as a DLL for use of the entire MIDI backend in conjunction with a small soundfont . I...

Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

Well, now that we know this would be possible through FluidSynth, not to mention it'd be useful for making MIDI work at all in conjunction with a small soundfont, maybe it'd be about time to make a topic in the Feedback & Suggestions forum in the form of a more organized post? EDIT: Oh wait, we sho...

Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

^^That would've been nice to know earlier... though having soundfont support built-in to ReactOS would still work better not to mention give more exposure to the fact that MIDI can actually sound good. EDIT: ...uh, I haven't a clue how to get soundfonts working on that. We REALLY could use built-in...

Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

FluidSynth I believe could be compiled as a DLL and then used as the basis of the synth engine. A tiny soundfont bank could be included to have default support for MIDI synth. THIS. In theory it would be easier to implement AND give better results since it'd be fully compatible with larger high qua...

Re: Built-in soundfont support for MIDI?

fred02, I definitely would if I could, but alas not only can I not code, but I do not LIKE to code. >_< Therefore, I figured it'd be better to share my thoughts than to just sit here in dreamland. You can still help ROS ;) , translations and testing are the first to come in mind. hto : Interesting ...

OFC?

The one from Gallium is open source. Gallium is included in Mesa 7.5 and 7.6, however it isn't built by default in 7.5 afaik.

Re: Web Server for RoS

There are no significant benefits for integration, if the user wants it he can add it himself. At this time, maybe. But, in the future, it would be possible to great install images with options preconfigured to speed up deployment with this type of integration. And it wouldn't be available as part ...

Re: ReactOS Application Manager

I am aware that ReactOS is supposed to support vendor Windows NT drivers, but the fact is, they don't. And also, being able to bundle a limited set of drivers in ReactOS would be a good thing too, even if they aren't as "high performance" as the vendor's drivers... Well, the obvious answer is: "We ...

Re: Web Server for RoS

Again, its a NO to bundling unnecessary stuff. IIS is only included in server version of windows. Unless someone wants to create and maintain a server distro of ROS, i dont see any need for IIS replacement. I use actually Windows XP pro in my home PC. IIS 5.1 it's presented like an add-on for the O...
