Re: Blog: Translatable emptyness and Long-winded Shortcuts

640 K ought to be enough for anybody. It's fun to laugh about that remark Bill Gates made about the original IBM-PC. To be fair, one must remember that this was being said of a crippled machine that came with a 5 Mhz 8088 microprocessor hiding behind an 8-bit data bus, had one 360KiB floppy drive f...

Re: Blog: Translatable emptyness and Long-winded Shortcuts

640 K ought to be enough for anybody. Yes Bill. ;-) Actually, it's of all times. The latest being: "SuperSpeed 10 Gb/s is more than enough performance for the everyday user." - Ravencraft In a few years, no doubt he'll eat those words too. Seriously, I'd like to know why he can't get the branch to ...

Regarding Minecraft, if one has enough memory @ host and VBox + installed Guest Additions, one may be able to run Minecraft on ROS (see https://www.dropbox.com/s/li0jysfa996u6u3/Zrzut%20ekranu%202014-11-13%2023.52.10.png?dl=0 ) :D Sadly I don't have enough RAM @ the moment - VBox just keeps running...

Re: I smell 0.3.17 release pretty soon...

Version numbers are not important. Having stable and a steady flow of releases is what is important Like this one, sounds like in Fifth Element. We need this MotD in ROS. Can I use it in my signature, with proper attribution of course? I dunno. It's akin to saying 'Bullets don't kill people; ...

Re: Two Steps from [the S]hell

You need to take into account the possibility a user will delete their favorites folder. It needs to check if the favorites folder exists, and create it if it doesn't. Yes, that is Windows behavior. If Windows requires saving to a folder that isn't there, it creates it without errors nor prompting....

Re: Does the ReactOS project get any money from OSDisc.com?

Those posts look to me like they're about third party distribution in general, not specifically OSDisc.com. As far as I can tell you could open up a website of your own and sell ReactOS discs and they would apply to you too. There is no reason to separate your own desire to distribute ReactOS CDs f...

Re: Does the ReactOS project get any money from OSDisc.com?

Z98 said they cannot use it to claim endorsement, he did not say they have to make it clear it's not endorsed by the project. ... and we required you to make very clear that this was not a formal printing by the project. Let me rephrase: I can not see anywhere on OSDisc.com that they "make very cle...

Re: Does the ReactOS project get any money from OSDisc.com?

OSDisc.com does not "make very clear" that it's not endorsed by the Project. So do they have to stop? or enter some kind of agreement with the ReactOS Foundation to be able to distribute it? Personally I'd like to see it continue, but for some of the revenue to go toward ReactOS' development. :arro...

Re: Does the ReactOS project get any money from OSDisc.com?

I'm pretty sure we made clear at the time that while you could use the trademark as a 'label' to describe the images you could not use it to promote sales or imply any sort of formal relationship with the project. As such, if you attempted to print the logo onto the CD, the use of the logo could on...
