Re: Blog: On Patches

"Another big patch is actually by Hanke, and it's to switch the wallpaper rendering from using GDI to GDI+. Why does this matter? Well, for one it would allow for using images in formats besides BMP as wallpapers." :o What the..?! This issue has been mentioned on the forum several times by now, not ...

Re: Call for JIRA sherpas

In the Support forum topic UNIATA Hangs when BIOS set to "sata ide combined mode" Webunny identified a drawback to the ReactOS bug reporting that has been bothering me and others: Couldn't some construct be devised that makes it easier for people to just point out bugs, and make sure it gets noted,...

Re: UNIATA Hangs when BIOS set to "sata ide combined mode"

A butt report. Now, it does seem we're on the same wavgelength for once, though I would like to maybe extend it a bit. I would suggest to establish a semi-official system whereby routined people on the furom whom already have a password and already made JIRA-reports, could and would paste...

Re: Wordpad background color ideas

...we should implement a API compatible Word implementation. Poor "we". He is expected to do so much. ;) Lol. Anyway, it wasn't clear to me if one was talking about Wordpad, and mistakenly typed 'Word' or not, but obviously, if it's actually Word we're talking about, Justincase is right: it's far b...

It could also have been Creative Commons, but the context didn't suit it. ;)

Re: distrowatch

@Webunny - There are a number of notable fallacies in what you said, but for the sake of staying on topic I will not make a rebuttal. @DOSGuy - Yeah, , I agree. @Webunny - If you're trying to be on-topic, then at the very least you could put something that's on topic in your post, and w...

Re: distrowatch

Dude, can you never let anything go? It's like if anyone in the world disagrees with you, you have a compulsive need to argue with them. You received a warning, which the forum administrators have a right to issue, so heed the warning and move on with your life. Or do you intend to argue until you ...

Jalmari wrote:How about posting all the wallpapers as thumbnails and links on a single thread?
I did that with the former wallpapercontest. But one has to organise such a thing, because otherwise people have the tendency to post each their own wallpapers in different threads (as on ecan see).

Re: DistroWatch

I would like to know how to reference to it (I mean; the debate WAS there) *without* it being deemed to be 'airing my grievances'? One issue here is that it didn't need to be mentioned, as this topic has nothing to do with the debate you're referring to. According to me, it's rather personally focu...

Re: distrowatch

Let me say it this way: the devs won't care about all this stuff, at least, not to the point they'll bother to do anything about it. I suggest you do it yourself, yes... though I can't give any(re)assurances as to what the reaction of the higher ups might be if they perceive it as being too meddlin...

Re: UNIATA Hangs when BIOS set to "sata ide combined mode"

That generally sucks for realHW as these people don't remain around for long enough to test a fix - nobody else can test it. At least as far as newjoiners without working JIRA access. Maybe, but maybe they leave because they don't get any response except 'go to JIRA'. I know what you're saying, and...

Re: UNIATA Hangs when BIOS set to "sata ide combined mode"

Please report your problem on JIRA (otherwise no dev will see it). I've been wondering about that too, as part as an amelioration in how to handle (new) community members. Couldn't some construct be devised that makes it easier for people to just point out bugs, and make sure it gets noted, without...

On this website distrowatch.com it mentions ReactOS with links. It also list "packages" but I see these packages are for Linux? should I contact them instead?
