Re: Possibly incredibly useful program - API Monitor

Process monitor is a fairly well-known program. FlyingIsFun1217 Yes, Sysinternals (now owned by Microsoft) is familiar to many of us. That would be great and all if I was talking about Process Monitor or Sysinternals. Process Monitor is watching only a relatively small number of Windows API calls A...

Re: React OS DLLs on Windows

You would have to essentially build a compatibility layer program from scratch that would have to intercept all API calls and redirect them to the proper DLLs.

Possible, yes. Feasible, no. Not without a ton of effort and time and money (because time is money).

Possibly incredibly useful program - API Monitor

http://betanews.com/2012/05/30/api-monitor-2-0-may-only-be-alpha-but-it-gets-the-job-done/ When you need to track an application’s behavior then Sysinternals Process Monitor is a great place to start. In a click or two you can be watching the target program’s file, Registry and process-related activ...

Re: Fundraising campaign 2012

Definitely not a fit for ReactOS. It requires rewards of some sort - what rewards, exactly, can ReactOS offer? It's not like they can give away free copies, which means the rewards would likely themselves cost money. It would also require a lot of administration, which would cost more money (most of...

Re: POSIX Subsystem

http://www.reactos.org/wiki/POSIX_Subsystem Eventually (by the end of the century, assuming our species and technology are still around) ReactOS will have a POSIX subsystem. Until then, the feature is already requested and a very low priority - unless someone volunteers to make it, it will likely be...

Without commenting on anything else posted in this topic, I would like to make the following observation:

Without intensive public relations efforts, that fundraising goal will not be met this year.

Re: Arm Development and Raspberry pi

File extensions are an implied convention, not an enforced one. Giving a text file an extension of .exe does not magically make it a PE executable. And no one has said that it would. Nor has use of magic been implied. Obviously , different extensions for different architectures would: (a) Be a way ...

Re: ReactOS... Phone?!?

ReactOS will come to phones - not if, when . Current smartphone operating systems are not designed very well for multitasking (switching between apps), and while that will likely change in the coming years, I still think ReactOS has a lot more to offer in that area than current mobile operating syst...

What is the roadmap to 0.4.0?

(Note: This is a serious topic. Nothing in this post is meant to be offensive, rude, demanding, ignorant, etc. I am not asking how long until 0.4.0 - I know that it will be released "when it's ready", just like most other software out there (although my personal guess would be from 1-2 years from n...
