Re: Arm Development and Raspberry pi

I have a suggestion for an alternative that would achieve a similar goal. Why not develope ROS for a mini x86 pc like this one: http://www.mini-box.com/Intel-D2500HN-Mini-ITX-Motherboard ? Why does it need to be an ARM like the RasPi? I understand the interrest in ARM, but it seems rather extreme f...

Re: How does Microsoft's patent on the taskbar affect ReactO

My worry is more that it specifically mentions a "Start" menu. Mac OS doesn't have a comparable start menu (just the dock and finder), and Linux usually has a series of menus. I don't know of any Linux distros before 95 that had an actual start-like button (like KDE does, IIRC).

Re: [Testing] List of Bugs not commented > 1 year

I always wonder how much of this will change when the code evolves, though. What is to stop a bug from being fixed and then brought up again? Seems like a better thing to do when each related component is "stable". FlyingIsFun1217 I hope someday the ReactOS team will pick a point where they don't h...

Digg is nothing compared to Reddit, I wouldn't bother putting in much effort there.

printing and selling ROS branded CDs without our permission
I got the impression that he was gauging the interest so he could justify approaching ReactOS and then doing it on behalf of them.

Re: Poll: Would you buy a printed/packaged Ros-cd in support

That said, the major cost lays in the full-color printing of the CD and covers, and I don't see any links to prices for that (it seems to be all 'blanc' items). A spindle of 100 CD's can be bought on sale here for $10 ($0.10 each). The burner experiences minimal wear and tear, and most computers ha...

Re: Translation Ros

Use Notepad++. And as long as you're editing copies of the originals (and not actually copying the text into another document), it should save in the proper encoding. Also check out the Translation Status Category http://www.reactos.org/wiki/Category:Translation_Status (ignore the changelog) I would...

Re: [Testing] List of Bugs not commented > 1 year

I hope someday the ReactOS team will pick a point where they don't have any major code changes or large features planned for a few months, then post another topic like this so we can help them test all the bugs and get their statuses updated and whatnot. Preferably getting at least one comment on ea...

Re: ReactOS executables detected by Avira

Yes, Avira Antivir. I would submit them, but my concern is that the next time the source for those files is changed the Antivirus won't exclude it and it will have to be resubmitted. Working directly with the vendor may help make changes on either side to avoid that (either modifying the heuristics ...

Re: Compatibiity in all windows version?

It aims to be compatible with 32bit and 64bit software designed for Windows NT(XP,2003,Vista,7,8) Right now, it aims to be compatible with 32 bit software and drivers that work with Windows Server 2003. Are there any work done to directly implement this like WINE so I, running Linux would be able t...

Re: While building ReactOS, at 63% it says Access Denied.

If you're a bit more advanced with computers... Google and download Process Monitor from Microsoft. Here's how you use it: Run the program and accept the EULA. It starts capturing events by default, so you'll want to go to the File menu and stop capturing/logging (keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+E). Now, ...

ReactOS executables detected by Avira

https://www.virustotal.com/file/ab35fba ... 340778817/

Looks like alot of the ReactOS executables are flagged by Avira as infected.

Given how often they change, figured it would be best for you guys to contact them.

Re: Is there Automatic crash information collection system?

I would assume that, right now, there are enough bugs they know about that it's not important.

Once they've taken care of all the huge bugs, and all the crashes they know about, they'll look into a crash reporter.

Until then, they just have too much to do.
