Re: Why?

I also think that the new homepage is a step in the good direction, but still needs polishing, specially with the wording and the amount of blank space. Let's be fair here, ' awesomizing ' sounds more than a bit cringey. I understand it tries to give a trendy image that references dank Internet meme...

Re: Poll: New Tango Volume Icon

I like the third one. You are right about the blue gradient, when used with a non-solid theme like Luna or Lautus it does not look quite right. The shape of the GNOME icon is a bit more realistic while still retaining some influence from the one in the Tango set (*), which I find too simple. -- ( * ...

Re: Change Display Drivers Possible?

First of all, I have a patch for supporting the VirtualBox Guest Additions' dynamic resolution here . It was merged in the 0.4 RC1, so if you use that version you will have any resolution after installing the tools and rebooting the virtual machine, which is exactly what you want. ReactOS will dynam...

Re: Poll to choose exe files icon

Then konata, pi_user so that the users put polls and ideas in this project, if will be ignored by us?, is a time loss to we too then. We think that exists more ideas of design, more functions, etc to reactos, but us only tango icons and no more, icon 4 is good, but can try with other and reactos wi...

Re: Poll to choose exe files icon

I don't think that second icon meets the quality guidelines. I'd iterate over the idea and give it at least two more passes. The icon right now just feels out of place between the other items of the Tango set.

Pretty interesting, I enjoyed it. I bet people thought that messing with drivers was a bit more involved.

Re: Poll to choose exe files icon

Number 5 looks like an MDI dialog, which is pretty typical of Windows, I think that still makes sense given the context. Unlike the other icons it follows the Tango guidelines while staying pretty distinguishable and visually appealing, instead of straightly cloning the original icon's shape. I also...

Re: 0.4.0 release branch!

A 0.3.18 might disappoint but a lacklustre 0.4.0 will disappoint more as we (the public) have high expectations for 0.4.0. I think it really needs to 'be' something in order to get people interested in finally using/testing ReactoS. A delay of 5-6 months with a firm-ish release date would be accept...

Re: Start Menù button icon

Pi_User5 That has the current start menu icon but at 16 colors because 0.2 only supported 16 colors and not 32. So there. The icon you want probably looked better at 16 colors. So yes, going with what Swyter said, if the people of ReactOS did not trust the UX team, then these icons could not have be...

Re: Start Menù button icon

Art work is not my thing, neither am I any good as a coder (as stated elsewhere in the forum). Yes, I am an armchair critic on this subject, because of what I have just stated, but I am not one of those that come here and make posts saying "We" should do this and "We" should do that; I still do not...

Re: Start Menù button icon

You know what a meritocracy means? It has to do with that people who have been consistently working on improving the look and feel of a software suite for more than a year have a more relevant opinion than an armchair critic. Also, this is not constructive, if you want to suggest improvements then s...

Re: 0.4.0 release branch!

This is the right choice. The amount of publicity and exposure that follows a point release is always a good thing. Changes have been drastic and ReactOS is somewhat more stable than ever, for the first time reaching the point of being usable for certain tasks. Following it closely, as I have invest...

Re: Start Menù button icon

Nope, the community edition does not have anything to do with it. Also, sorry, but the updated explorer-new icon looks better in almost every aspect. No way the old one it's coming back in TRUNK. Being classic has nothing to do with looking ugly, please don't extrapolate or generalize. We have worke...

Re: Software for automatization of regression tests

I also ended up putting together a similar batch script in 2012 that downloads daily builds, extracts and mounts them in VirtualBox, automatically starting the machine. But yours is way better, and the ability to slipstream third party software seals the deal. Great job!
