Re: 58 specific reasons for wanting ReactOS:

As an open source OS, what would happen if someone uses portions of MS copyrighted code and submits it to you for inclusion in this OS? If someone does this, MS will claim patent infringment or even piracy of their software? This comment has nothing to do with this thread so please, in future, post...

Re: Can the following programs run on ReactOS?

You are thinking of using ReactOS a little too early in ReactOS' development.

We have a time machine if you really need to obtain version 1.0. It needs a bit if work.

As you don't come here often, your opinion may not have the weight you think it has.

Re: Should I install it?

No. Do not install on real hardware unless the machine and the data on it is not important. You must understand the risks. Read the installation instructions for ReactOS and read it well.

Tell us the hardware in detail so we can prove you are not a bot.

Should ROS 0.4.12 be codenamed ReactOS McReactOSface?
It would probably be ReactOS Boaty-McBoatface, sad but true. People are sad. However, I'd vote for that too.

Re: Dear developers

Possibly a good idea not to spam the forum nor JIRA with issues nor attempting to sort out perceived ReactOS organisational issues when you are a noob. My suggestion: If you can code then code. If you want to test then test and raise bugs. Stick around, don't annoy people by raising pointless issues...

Re: Switching the target to the NT 6.x kernel might save R&D time in the long run

Quim, note to you, sent to you here as PM-ing on the forum you does not work. When you say "We expect" it becomes an order. Using that phrase, you are speaking for the world in general, you have the authority of the world behind you and the expectation is that whoever is being spoken to will do exac...

Re: Switching the target to the NT 6.x kernel might save R&D time in the long run

It may be merely an English translation issue. Quim may not understand the nuance that his "we expect" comments give. Note to Quim - replace the word 'expect' with 'hope', ie. "we hope that in the year of Windows 7...NT 5.2 kernel will be almost complete" - this way it feels less like you are orderi...
