Re: Concurrent spam
+ 1 for captchas. And they need not even be graphical. I've seen things like "the month before February" or "2 + three" etc. Spam will never be entirely avoidable, though. You can only slim down its occurrence, so you do not get "spam-ridden", but "zero spam" is not a very realistic target. I must c...

Re: Have you any persistent bug(s) that irritate you?
Well, from memory:
When ReactOS starts, it asks you to install some drivers. But if you say "yes", it has no idea, apparently, how to do that. - That's OK, but then it shouldn't ask in the first place.

Re: Encrypt/decrypt files to fly
Quite frankly: As suggest to leave to userspace as much as possible. Otherwise, the complexity of ReactOS will rise exponentially. - I am all for including free tools on the CDs for the comfort of the user, or to automate downloads etc.; but all those "it might be a good idea"-things are better left...

Re: We need an official C compiler and assembler for ReactOS
C'mon people, be serious. With all that idle workforce sitting around, I really believe we should create not only a C-Compiler, but also a little vectorizing supercomputer from scratch. It can't be that hard, after all. And if a few thousand people create GCC over the course of some 30 years, would ...

Re: China and Korean Government are shifting away from Windo
"Which" Korea? - There was a certain Korea with some "Red Star Linux"... And China has "Red Flag Linux"... :D But yeah, I do give a chance for ReactOS in these countries. In reality, Windows XP is pretty much all you actually "need", if you can afford only very modest hardware. ReactOS is perfect fo...

Have you ever considered that there might be a reason why Hugh Hefner is a rich man?
The conclusion is obvious, though: we must sell sex-toys to finance ReactOS!

ReactOS is more relevant than Solaris
Yeah, I am being provocative - but it is so, at least as of right now on distrowatch.com - ReactOS is on 92nd place, Solaris is on 97th place.

Re: First ReactOS Community Edition perk sold out
Dear vicmarcal, I am sorry, but "pushing your apps" works only "so-so". You see that nobody went straight to the 10k-push, so there is no "commercial interest". Because all you can get is... an app running on ReactOS. As a matter of fact, for far less money and with way more stability, you will get ...

Re: First ReactOS Community Edition perk sold out
I am actually pleased to see that, as I was... in fact proposing it, in another thread. :) Yes, "they" really DO care about their community! Now, obviously, nobody is choosing this "for the power". But... for the uniqueness. Can you tell me, why a Raspberry Pi? Why a mechanic Swiss watch, if you can...

Re: Does ReactOS only run inside a VM?
I myself own an Alix - catch is, 256 MB RAM only - and needed install over USB. But it was otherwise really OK, it worked for over half a year before I rebooted it due to shifting its place.

Re: we’re giving away up to 30 HummingBoards!
Because we will be using machines with 256 GB RAM and 64 cores of whatever architecture until ReactOS ARM is in any useable stage... but it is a good idea for other hobbies.
One possible use WOULD be, of course, to emulate ReactOS. So to say, treat Linux as a sort of firmware...

I admit, the "kitties" get on my nerves completely. (Apart from this, I do respect the efforts of that gentleman otherwise.)

Sorry, they look like big fun, but they are ARM and not x86.

Re: Blog: Indiegogo software/hardware vote info
What I would LOVE to have, already for 8 years, is an SSH server.
Why? - Simple. Remote management of Windows CLI applications. Yes, such exist.

Re: Why is it taking so long?
It'd be good if you actually tell me what ideas do you think Linux keeps from the 70's. Well....... You'd be surprised. ;) Linux also supports UPPERCASE ONLY LOGINS, if you happen to not have a lowercase-enabled terminal. Now how 70s is THAT? And you have no problem at all getting over acoustic cou...
