Re: FullFAT inclusion

Well I'll agree that would be the ideal situation. If it was up to me I'd just use ExFat for everything but our issue here is that it needs to be universal as well as open. We cant be getting in trouble for such a minor issue. Personally I think that using EXT 2/3 would be more conducive as it's ava...

Re: FullFAT inclusion

Aleksey brought it up for discussion, can anyone provide support for using UDF as a file system on something other that optical media so that it can be discussed at the next meeting. Personally I have to put my support behind just using EXT2/EXT3 its the logical choice. However I'd like to see if we...

Re: An awesome feature has arrived: VS IDE support!!

They really have put lots of work into making this work correctly. Anything that make our current, and potencial dev community's lives easier is a major plus to me. This next release is going to be the biggest move forward in years. Now only if we could get a working memory manager

Re: Google Sommer of Code 2013

GSOC worked out very well for us last year, even though a few projects fell off there was plenty of progress made by the participants. If google accepts us as they have in the past I'm sure we will take advantage of the opportunity and provide them with several goal sets we feel they can complete. I...

Re: Newsletter Please

I would but my relationship with the team is somewhat complicated. If the team asked me to do a newsletter I'd be more than glad to do so, I read all the commit logs and lurk in the IRC most of the week, so it wouldn't be a stretch for me to write a few. I'll leave it up to Z98 though he can bring i...

Re: EPIC WIN - Hardware

Any chance of ROS running on an Via C7 with Chrome 9. I've got some 1.6ghz laptops and a ITX board that I could give it a spin on. But even windows hates this thing. I'll give em a spin and post later this week.

Re: Education & Research (Universities collaboration)

Aleksey, honestly most efforts so far have been lead by you and a few other individuals. We really should get ROS up and running on some netbooks and get them out there to schools that are willing to host us. We should do a tour to mimic the efforts the RasPi team did in the states last year. As I u...

Re: New website - state of affairs

Wow that is clean and the scrolling homepage is a nice touch. It's simple clean, and effective. Also good call on using both Typo and jquery. My only word of advice is to load jquery from the Google CDN. Please load this up ASAP... It looks and functions 10x better than the current site, and could t...

Re: Driver Source Released for the RasPI

I have been working with some android rom development and with RasPI on porting android to the pie but though ROS would be a better longterm project for it. Dont we have an ARM dev team?

Driver Source Released for the RasPI

It's looking like now might be a good time to revisit the ROS ARM port. With the new RasPI drivers we have a solid and well documented platform with all included driver sources with which to develop a working on the ARM build ROS will have to one day work with WindowsRT and getting it to boot on som...
