ReiserFS pro. Question about ext2?
For purpose of building reactos svn snapshots myself, i have created a supplemental partition "d:" of 7GB which unfortunately must be FAT32 to be accessible as well from win2000 as from REACTOS. And i experienced that since increasing the size from 2 or 3 GB to 7GB, the access performance especially...

make + make bootcd ROSAPPS??
I have done "make" and "make bootcd". But i think the ROSAPPS have not been builded. I don't see any "*.exe" from that on the CD directory tree. And if i do cd ..\rosapps mingw32-make * it says the "nothing is to be done for ..." where ... are the various applications in rosapps. So it looks as if t...

Reiser FS or NTFS (and FAT) / emergency floppy
Due to replace windows one day in the future, i think Reactos must support ReiserFS or NTFS for security, performance and stability reasons. FAT/FAT32 should not be thrown out of reactos, users should alway have the option of attaching a FATxx partition, and Reactos should give choice of filesystem-...

Reactos "install" produces no FAT32.BIN and no boo
I have now a primary partition nr 1 as FAT32 for Reactos, and containing also Win2000. I made "mingw32-make install" in "...SVN\TRUNK\REACTOS" and c:\reactos was created and filled with reactos. But it did not install any bootsector nor freeldr.sys or create "fat32.bin".? What do i miss or make wron...

How install RosBE in Reactos? Where is $PATH?
Well if it's possible to install gcc in Reactos, i suppose it's sufficient to copy the whole "c:\RosBE" directory from a windows installation to the reactos, is it? I think the normal install way with RosBE don't work because that needs a windows installer? If i try, should i do with "start" + "run"...

Install "RosBE" and compile Reactos within Reactos
At this moment i'm updating m SVN repository an a regular base thru "Tortoise SVN" on my Win2000 platform, installed as NTFS. So i cannot do compiling and test Reactos on one partition with win2000. I'm using "RosBE" on Win98 FAT32 platform, but it fails with the new build scheme of the SVN tree. qu...

Followup: Win98 K.O., win2000 OK but no FAT32.BIN
Now I have some news about my problem.
On the win98 platform, i previously used for compiling reactos, it still blocks with the same error.
However, i installed RosBE on win2000, and that works on the fly. I only have one minor problem: FAT32.BIN is not created, maybe because i have win2000 on NTFS?

Tortoise SVN roll-back to an older rev?
>Now I have to wait until a new working code has been added. You do not need wait for a working code. You can look on svn.reactos.com what revision number has the last ISO image published. You can be sure that revision compiles without fatal error. In Totoise SVN you can either update to "head revis...

Compiling syntax errors in "rbuild" with new build
I want to compile the SVN builds. Since the new build system i always get errors like in the dos-prompt extract below. Looks as if the compiler doesn't like the code in the build? The problem is in "rbuild" but reactos won't compile without rebuild, what i tried out. Should i be missing some compile...

Freeldr problem with 1024 cylinder limit?
My config: hda1 = win2000 hda2 = reactos + win98 multiboot by freeldr The win98 bootsector is in a file. Now i have increased the hda1 because of additional space need in win2000. reactos still starts correctly thru freeldr, but freeldr doesn't start win98 anymore. freeldr error message saying "fail...

Install problem 80% solved
I managed to install the famous freeldr bootsector manually. The trick i found out myself is to leave unchanged the first 80 bytes of windos98 bootsector, and to overwrite only bytes 81-255 of sector 0 with the bytes 81-256 from fat32.bin I suppose that in bytes 1-80 of sector 0 are stored some impo...

Syntax tutorial "freeldr.ini"? Freeldr homepage?
Hello, Having to solve some problems with "freeldr", i would be very happy to know if a detailed syntax tutorial exists somewhere for freeldr, especially for the "freeldr.ini". :?: I would especially appreciate how to add a menu-point for starting win98 from freeldr, by calling the saved windos98-bo...

avldr in win98 - FINALLY WORKS in pure dos mode!
When i work in win98, then both primary NTFS partitions number 1 and 3 are hidden. And i do not have boot.ini in win98, of course. Should i create in win98 a "dummy" copy of the boot.ini from win2000, to have avldr install in win98? :D update: avldr and reactos finally work! what i have done:...

avldr on win98 (2) 1024 cylinder limit?
@f22_storm thank you for your infos >and the UI need IE installed. That's it! I had exiled IE from my win98se for security reasons. So that may explain the avldr crash in GUI? avldr crashing in GUI is no problem for me, because booting win98se in command-line only mode is is faster anyway. I don't l...
