Vorschlag:
Filezilla-server ist ein einfaches FTP-server Programm für windows.
Wenn reactos Netzwerk erstmal benutzbar und mehr oder weniger fertig ist, könnte man ja "filezilla server" testen.

Forget NTFS write support. Implement Reiserfs!
The only hope to resolve the legal issues would be if US government or EU commission FORCED Microsoft to fully publish ANY internal NTFS documentation. As many others, i suppose this will not come true before 1 or 2 years, and reactos development should not be blocked on this question. One solution ...

possible reason for this?
I have always had the same effect. At last stage of installation, the boot sector is not written and i must manually copy the sectos from "fat32.bin". So happens with putting reactos on 1st primary active partition. I think reactos installer is still irritated by the presence of 2 inactive and hidde...

Better a good reiserfs than a bad NTFS implemetation
@Dr. Fred is right: >FAT32 is stone aged. I say FAT32 should only be in the installer as the "second choice" for the system partition. With FAT32, reactos would always stay at Win9x level concerning security. On the other hand as long as MS will not fully unveil documentation of NTFS, the reactos or...

PS/2 on old mainboard
>Most P1 and newer mainboards do have an onboard header for a PS/2 mouse port, though. @Elledan Mine has, and i tried some time ago to cable it according to a scheme i found in the internet. But after plugging the mouse, nothing worked, not even in MSDOS with Norton commander. The keyboard froze as ...

serial mice small port is COM1 or COM2?
>A serial mouse should be plugged into the first serial port (COM1), or it won't work. This is because ROS for now only checks that port for the presence of a mouse Smile I also intended to install reyctos on an old mainboard without ps2 mouse port, without success. When the first install screen pop...

use "mc" (midnight commander)
I think copy, paste, move are at this moment not fully implemented in ros-explorer.
In order not to fight with "heavy" command line expressions, i use the "mc" midnight commander for such purpose. I think it's the most comfortable solution.

ROS_INSTALL directory
@GvG >I get the same error you see when the output dir I specify in ROS_INSTALL doesn't exist. Maybe. But i have now checked that. The "d:\reactos" exists. And it cannot be a matter of rights either as "d:" is FAT32. Other possibly linked question: Can it be due to the fact that i build on an "expor...

Install path...?
>Do you have a ROS_INSTALL environment variable? What is it set to?
Yes. It is "d:\reactos". But i thought the install path has no importance while making "depends", compiling.
Install path is only used when doing "install" means copying the binaries to the reactos system tree?

Build problem, build path error about "dibgen.c
Hi, i have some blocking problem on build in an early stage. i'm using: win2000 "D:" is a FAT32 partition RosBE and doing "mingw32-make depends" I do not even see in what part the problem exactly happens but i think it's after "wmc.exe" and about "subsys\win32k\dib\dib32gen.c", maybe a path referenc...

Explorer skins in the future...
My guess is that in future versions (maybe >= 0.9 or >=1.0) it will be possible to change the look by skins. So those (not me!) who insist to have Reactos look like WinXP, can do it without usiong a shareware like windowblinds. Some Linux distributions also have KDE skins with a partial "X...

does reactos (0.3 trunk) access the harddisk in DMA mode? or only in real mode at this time?

OT comment: NTFS? or WinFS?... or ReiserFS...
Maybe i'm a bit offtopic, but i would like to remember that Microsoft intends to replace coming windows versions in middle future NTFS by "WinFS". Maybe WinFS will be even more "complicate and opaque" than NTFS. I think that's an argument for Reactos' filesystem "independance" from windows. Maybe Re...
