Re: Xen as Host for Reactos?

If I realized correctly, this document: http://qubes-os.org/trac/wiki/UserFaq#CanIinstallQubesonasystemwithoutVT-x indicates that in Qubes OS, the Windows-based AppVMs are based on hardware virtualization technology ( e.g. Intel's VT-x, AMD's AMD-V, etc. ) but not paravirtualization, so the Windows ...

Re: A couple of changes

Development + Design + Tutorials (relevant topics) = Development and Design People are free to give me feedback on this for about a week before I pull the trigger. May be it is just me, but when I read "Development and Design" I automatically assume "Development and OS Design". Then I had a look at...

Re: Webkit

I think the switch to WebKit would be a wise choice since the defualt broswer seems to have a very outdated and slow engine. There is also Google's Blink, a fork of Webkit, which plans on omitting prefixes. AFAIK Wine( our upstream project ) is using Gecko used by Firefox v21 now, so it couldn't be...

Re: ARM MMU Support For ReactOS

If we just focus on supplying Windows NT compatibility on different platforms, you are right, we do not need to care about WinRT. However I don't know what is our future aim, so... Re: ARM MMU Support For ReactOS

Why should we artificially restrict ReactOS? It might be undocumented and unofficial for Microsoft, but this does not mean that we need to follow every decision made by them. Question is, if we do not follow them, we should develop a custom mechanism to support desktop apps on ARM, that means we ha...

Re: ARM MMU Support For ReactOS

If you remove the layer of fat that they added to get Windows RT, you will get Windows 8, and in particular, the Windows NT kernel. A hacker got around the layer of fat and started running native Win32 apps on it. Yes, you could run desktop apps on Windows RT, but in a hacking way . That behavior w...

Re: ARM MMU Support For ReactOS

If anyone wants to run Win32-x86 applications on the ARM platform without modification , he or she will pay a great amount of time and effort to do this because Windows uses several x86-specific features (for example, Win32 subsystem uses the FS segment register to access some thread-related informa...

AFAIK, some developers had already used this tool in ReactOS development. You could search the JIRA History or SVN History for the details.

Re: Does ROS have ram limitation?

PAE is always an useful feature for 32bit operating systems. Considering Linux and Win, both their 32bit versions enabled this feature by default.( OK I cannot recall in which version Windows started to enable it default, but at least Win7 did. )The programs using multi-process model could benefit f...

16x16比较好,符合全角等宽字符宽度正好相当于两个半角等宽字符的规律。
顺便,谁知道如果想翻译newsletter应该怎么投稿?
