Re: PS3

Twilight hack to me is nothing more than a Software Mod chip like the old diskswaps and game hacks on PS2 and Xbox's. I put it in the same class as mod chipping. You are working on a platform without permission and updated versions of it may not work. PS3 PS2 and to a point PS1 there is a invited wa...

Re: PS3

Missed it there is a hypervisor in a PS3. Total ram normally directly accessible is 256 megs and Video card is off limits without hacks to OS's and non signed software. PS2 also allow running Linux. There are even PS2 distributions out there. Development platform mode PS1 was also a Linux based syst...

No point talking about Java running in .net https://net2java.dev.java.net/ Lots of .net also runs on Java. Both bytecode engines both can run each other applications to a point. Both java and .net not part of core reactos. The key thing is that licenses are layers. Last layers on Reactos is GPL with...

Re: Making Win32 DYNAMIC Libraries (DLLs) from STATIC Libraries.

There is a little more going on there than you are notice. --export-all-symbols is a very mess way. Its a way of adding the flags I was saying after the fact. Handy when you have screwed up your build. It is no where near recommended. There are still known ways that objects built for static linking ...

Re: Half-Life 1 (Classic) initializes on Qemu; 0.3.4SVN

There are two options for Direct X on Ros Both have there place. wined3d what is direct x converted to opengl. This is good inside virtual machines where the out side OS only has opengl. React X current in development in a branch of Reactos will be merged back in time. Most likely faster on real har...

Re: Making Win32 DYNAMIC Libraries (DLLs) from STATIC Libraries.

Ok if you notice there is no normal docs for going this way. http://www.mingw.org/docs.shtml Read how to create a dll There is a catch reason why it normally can never work __declspec(dllexport) and __declspec(import) in most cases are not included when building a normal .a file for static linking. ...

Re: prompt ¿ humm.. Fish.... !

Something like fish is a lot harder to do for windows. Fish is accessing the *nix man pages for descriptions of all applications on the command line. Windows kinda does not have that. So doing fish as perfectly as under *nix will be harder than most people think. Also *nix equal to .lnk files .deskt...

Re: C code analysis software

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_to ... analysis#C

There are only 3 major ones for C that are opensource. After that you go for other methods like LLVM. Note not 1 of the 3 open source ones is actively maintained for windows.

Re: Multiple Logon

SpoonmAn Mpx predate MS Surface. Please note multi touch tech is about 30 years old. MS Surface is a poor copy not a functional as it could be. Lot of work still needed to bring current day X11 WM's and *nix Security up to speed with MPX. Since MPX can work with multi touch systems that can tell who...

Re: KDE on ReactOS project

There is such thing as jumping the gun.

http://windows.kde.org is working on getting all the background libraries stable. Then applications then maybe the full blown desktop. No point getting out side that time line. Reason last thing anyone want is a unstable windows manager.

Re: Multiple Logon

Its major advantage SdC is OpenGL works for the Linux form. Windows form could have Direct X and Opengl working. I have used 2 way to play some games without having another computer there. Its only really scalable to 10 users at once. Reason that is 5 dual head video cards. Its a little hard to find...

USB hub is not a 100 percent requirement. The ability to assign what USB ports to what user is. Careful screen management is also a requirement. Note Linux pulls of two users on a duel head video card. Ie each output is a different user. This requires a few management thing set up in the graphical s...
