Re: ReactOS is...

People will still use Linux because it's SUPERIOR to Windows, and indeed UNIX I chuckeled at that... Uh, even the ROS devs agree that the UNIX (and therefore Linux) architecture is superior to NT's. Can you name one dev who has expressed this opinion? At home I use Linux as my primary OS and ...

Re: install reactOS from a usb

I am hoping the next release of ROS will have USB support. I will try installing from one once it is posted. :geek: I think ROS would be an excellent netbook os. :ugeek: Doubt that it will. I've only had a little spare time to work on it and really haven't made much progress. Only 1 driver in the s...

Re: possibility of bringing zpanel/samba and webmin into rea

We will be going with the "native windows-like control panel"
if Zpanel and webmin work on windows then they will eventually work on ReactOS.

Re: my thoughts

I really really really like spinach. A lot of people don't like it because its green and doesn't look to pleasant. But it is really good. And good for you. I think everyone should like spinach. You must because its so damn good. I feel that those people that do no like spinach should be forced to ea...

Thanks for the positive words. Yes im in regression fixing mode.
I personally would like the next release to be great (even though it wont have the usb stack).

Re: BIG REQUEST: Donate for USB !

JPLR, Eighth: It is said in the "MjMartin section that he is trying to create a usbehci.sys. As the role of it is very simple, thanks to the architect of Windows and the USB standard body, why can't you use the code from the drivers that already do that? You receive well described messages (IOCTL) a...

Re: BIG REQUEST: Donate for USB !

JPLR, Haos is exactly right. The issue is we dont have a windows compliant usb stack. So the list of example wdm usb drivers you provided in a previous post is only useful when we have that working usb stack. That is more than implementing usbd or usbport. Its also implementing drivers usbehci, usbo...

KernEd,
cc me on any patches you submit to bugzilla, I'll do my best to get them committed if they are good.
Based on what you said your experiences are,I think you'd be a great addition.

Re: BIG REQUEST: Donate for USB !

Your bounty is only going to force current developers to focus on items outside of their specialty in the hunt for the cash prize. I honestly believe it would hurt in the near term. What's wrong with a developer changing focus and learning something outside of his/her speciality if that area is mor...

Re: When does 0.3.12 will come out?

Aeneas, First, I think the aggressive attitude sometimes comes from some that get a bit annoyed at answering the constant repeat questions like you gave in your example, at seeing complaints on the forums because some goal that was put on a roadmap was not met. I consider myself very laid back and I...
