I'm not 100% sure, but I think that you're okay to look at code licensed under the GPL as long as you don't just copy/paste or manually copy it verbatim into your own source code file. Simply looking at it to see how it works and then implementing it in a compatible but slightly different fashion sh...

EDIT: Looks like I posted this just as you posted a response saying that you'd found it. Ah well, I'll leave it here in case someone else needs it.

Really? I didn't expect that - In fact, I thought that it was the opposite, since ReactOS is licensed under the GPL (for the record, I'm personally sort of neutral about his ideas). Anyway, back on topic: I like the idea of ReactOS as a server. In fact, that was one of the uses I was thinking of put...

Not to sound rude (I hate when it comes out that way!), but do you even know what a kernel is? It IS the OS ;)

Since the goal of ReactOS is to create an Open Source version of Windows, I don't think it'll have too much effect on development.

Your problem is a known one - ReactOS 0.3.4 Stable had a bug that caused problems with keyboard/mouse when running on real hardware. This issue has been fixed in the trunk.

You can obtain trunk builds here: http://www.reactos.org/getbuilds/

PS: ReactOS isn't a Linux distro.

The trunk builds page is broken right now. Try http://iso.reactos.org instead.

There have been several threads on this topic in the Design forum. The 2000 look is here to stay, though there may be an option to install extra themes at some point, possibly via the Download! tool.

ReactOS name and logo

I've been following the ReactOS project for about a year now, lurking the forums, downloading SVN builds and whatnot, and I've finally decided to actually create an account. So, um, hello. There's something that I've been wondering for a while: I know that ReactOS is Open Source and GPL, which means...
