Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

Firstly, I'd just like to remind everyone about the two links in my signature indicating that This Is Not Flamewar Material, since what we're discussing is 100% likely to cause everyone to get all angry'd up and I'm not looking to make mortal enemies here. The intro text is grey about what market Re...

Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

Its not just the roadmap GoBusto just take yourself on a tour of the Reactos website. You will find other than the forums there are very few clues that ros is for desktop use. So wrong assessment just has to be kinda expected. Ah, very clever, Mr. Bond - but let's see how you handle this! ReactOS® ...

Hardware support is what is needed.

Also, it is not GPL or compatible.

Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

Here is the important thing do we want a journalist with 30 years experience hating Reactos because we insulted them without valid grounds. The answer is no. Now 30 years experience also tells me has got it wrong before at different times and had to do corrections. Lets work on getting the correcti...

Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

Dont defend her oiaohm. Imperfection of our roadmap, nor of our wiki wont explain her actions. She is not some average John Doe, expecting to have everything served on a platter. She is a bloody journalist. Experienced one, as she claims. Well, she should act like one... A minor correction, Haos, D...

Yes, Python is far too silly. Let's have some nice, sensible military maneuvers instead.

Re: Vista Design possibly

in my oppinion, betting in a fancy GUI would be the worse mistake possible - XP and Vista are nice examples of this - and as well, using MacOS-X, what is missing there were no fancy interfaces, but yes those missing simple ones, like from NeXT-Step or Rhapsody... The most simple and fast an intefac...

Re: System sounds volume control

Silverblade would be the one to ask about this, since he's the official Sound Guy for ReactOS. It's worth noting, though, that Windows Server 2008 allows you to do this:

Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

What happens when those 60 days are up though? I'll have to pay. Or reinstall. Or install another one of my operating systems. Not that I'm bothered, since I change my OS about once a month anyway. EDIT: As it happens, the trial period expires in a few days. Perhaps I'll try the latest ReactOS SVN ...

Re: ReactOS is no threat to Windows.

On a related note, I'm currently running Windows Server 2008 as my desktop OS, because it didn't cost me anything to download the 60 day trial. It's really not that much different from Vista, just with less Graphics.

Re: Suggestions for default programs in ROS

Plus, the more stuff there is in the trunk build, the longer it takes for it to compile and the larger the resultant .ISO files are. To be honest, I'm not even sure why the games are included in trunk builds, but I'm sure that the devs have their reasons.

Re: PulseAudio

Silverblade is working on his own audio branch. The work he's done hasn't been merged into the trunk yet (as far as I know) but he is doing things.
