Re: ReactOS is...

If such a thing was attempted you would have to purchase Windows until it was complete. The way things are done now you don't have to pay a cent if the functionality you need is available. Also compare the size of the two. XP is over 1GB whereas ReactOS is less than 50 MB. Patching you would never g...

Re: Away on vacation

Maybe b4dc0d3r will continue the activity summaries. They have been a nice informative supplement when they come. I think b4dc0d3r watches the CIA page a bit more closely than I do and he seems to be a little more informed about what is going on.

Didn't know about that, thanks for the added info. So far I have yet to try Windows 7. I currently have XP and Vista.

[Feature Request] explorer bookmarks

I know that this would probably be very low priority but could be a cool concept. The idea is to be able to save what ever folder or search in a bookmark(thinking like firefox's bookmark toolbar) so when ever you want to return to a particular folder you can just click on it. This should not effect ...

Re: ReactOS in dualboot (with FreeDOS and WinXP)

I know that it has been a known issue that ReactOS only works in the first partition. Maybe this is part of your issue.

Re: msvc9 solution repairer

It uses paths relative to the directory the sln file is in so there should be no issues like that. The important thing is that all the other projects(.vcproj files) are somewhere in the sub-folders of the folder containing the sln file(which shouldn't be a problem unless you are moving folders with-...

msvc9 solution repairer

I took a look at the solution files auto-generated by ROS-BE using the "make msvc9" command and found out all the paths for the various projects were wrong. So when Visual Studio tried to load the solution it couldn't find anything thus rendering the solution file useless. To fix this problem I code...

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's

well, I don't know the reason, but ARWINSS has very much Wine inside. Hmmm. I also don't know if it's a bug, coz it doesn't decrease functionality. Thought I would answer this one since it seemed to be skipped over. ARWINSS is an effort to make more of WINE's code work for reactos by taking a more ...

Re: REACTOS wit ACPI enabled?

I noticed that in the commit log there was an update to the ACPI driver in trunk version 45733. Not sure what all this update entails but you might want to try a build after that one just in case.

Re: When does 0.3.12 will come out?

All roadmaps for this project are outdated and I have heard of no plans by the people that can that they will be updated. Reasoning given for this is that the time is better spent coding.

reacos solution seems to be compiling an incorrect file?

While running a build with MS Visual Studio I noticed several errors in a ole2.h so thinking this was a reactos file I ran a search and turned up a file with the same name. But when I compared it to the one that was giving the errors they where different. When I got around to getting visual studio t...

Re: We Should Add Additional Project Content to the Homepage

Browse to the development page (left upper-navigation menu) once there, the last item in the menu says "ReactOS CIA" . In that page you'll find the rss feed link to the left under "syndicate". No wonder I never found it and I wouldn't expect the average user to find it the first time that way witho...

Re: REACTOS wit ACPI enabled?

I have only done one successful compilation of reactos but one thing I found out in the process was the the make command is really picky about which directory you start in. Make sure that the directory you start the make command in is the one the contains the base, boot, dll, ect. folders.
