I thought it was SP2, or were there no changes to the kernel in it?

Re: Double-click to close

Many have said they didn't know about this method. Once it is learned, it's so convenient as to be an absolute show-stopper to lose it. I was never aware of it I've been using windows since the beginning and I was unaware this functionality was available. I doubt many others are aware of it too. I ...

Can you get the backtrace when the bugcheck happens in this mode (typing 'bt', but you probably already know)?
No keyboard input is possible. :(
Is it a USB keyboard? Then try enabling legacy USB support in BIOS.

War and peace are in people's mind. I have never seen OSes fighting each other. :ugeek:

A notification about the end of Windows XP support

And here we go: KB2934207.
I wonder if any subsequent versions will be honoured by such an "update". :D

Re: MS wants Nerds to help get Windows XP away from grandma

but no one would be satisfied using Windows 3.1 if they could have XP, and most people wouldn't be satisfied using XP if they could have 7. I'm nitpicking  , but it really depends on your use scenario. I have seen lab equipment running on Windows 3.1 waaaay after 98 was introduced and bank...

Re: Ideas - new kickstarter?

The Q&A thing is obviously more work than not doing it, but like I say it doesn't have to be done often. Devs could choose to do one or not do one, they could even pick their own questions if they were happy about it and open to it. It could be done a million different ways. @Z98. In the light of t...

Re: Motto Competition Winner!!!

AFAIK this has been our motto some years ago.. (?) Do you really think this is new? Not really, as there were so many things proposed , but explains why it popped in my mind. :) Thank you for reminding me. That was never the official motto. It was a term thrown around in previous years by various m...

Re: What is needed to get ReactOS to work on real hardware

So my spider sense was tingling for a reason, thanks Z98. :D (Thinking aloud: there are these questions coming over and over again on the forum and not covered by the FAQ . Someone have to add them there (and rewrite/reorganise existing-ones), as we loose too much time in these discussions. ...

Re: Ideas - new kickstarter?

Well, I did read your posts, and may be found your proverbial "diamond in the mine/pool". :) I think is reasonable is the possibility of organising Q&A interviews with ReactOS team members, perhaps once a month or maybe a little more often, or just whenever time permits. The community could get invo...

Sound fair to me and thanks to Z98 for taking time to make an substantiated answer.

Re: What is needed to get ReactOS to work on real hardware

Like are the devs willing to support direct hardware donations? I think this is the real question. Or, if you allow me to paraphrase: "Do ROS foundation needs/accepts hardware donations" and also "Is there a particular hardware needed by/for some developer"? And just to cut short all usual debates:...

Re: Why is it taking so long?

Or we could go for 8 without the braindead UI for desktops. Indeed. I understand that most common users are associating UI=OS, but those interested in a new alpha OS should try to be more educated. It is not really that hard, since various Classic Shell/Start8/etc. have been covered a lot by the me...
