Re: Re:

How it will know that the term is already expired? :) System time, and synchronization with the Windows Time Server. I've nothing to say if you're going to take measures to keep the system usable, such as setting the System time back, and either disconnecting the computer from the Net or rerouting ...

Re: Layers

OK, but I I know someone that work in Microsoft, and it looks like a whole new rebuild. The question remains, is React OS going to stay compatible, and if so, is all the work being done now a waste of time? Dan Stay compatible with the ever-evolving new OSes? Well, ROS can do that, once it gets pas...

Re: ReactOS run on my laptop?

To me, Vista is a terrible OS and can barely run games with a smooth fps, and the security is to strict on Vista. DirectX (Direct3D) is still being worked on in ROS, not all 3D games will run (ESPECIALLY not Crysis, which wouldn't run on your hardware anyway.) The laptop in question uses SATA. But ...

Windows 7 RC will send bi-hourly shutdown signals to the machine starting March 1st, 2010, it doesn't exactly "expire."

Re: Leaving IRC Channel

My forum password is an old password I've used for quite sometime. I've recently started a new trend of passwords, so I'm a little rusty on new accounts such as IRC and my new gmail address, etc. I remember 10+ passwords, none of them were my IRC password. So yeah. If I come back, it'll probably be ...

Leaving IRC Channel

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm leaving IRC, as I've forgotten my password for like the fifth time. They require you to send an email to support rather than having a password reset script on-site. I wondered why I always hated IRC, and now I remember why. (But the REAL reason is because ...

Re: new website layout contest

Whoever will do the next site layout please make the big ROS logo to be a link to home! It's a standard already... The reason why I can't link it back to home is because I've set the reactOS logo a background and not an image. (Just like the current ReactOS design.) I could try linking the entire b...

Re: Thank you VERY much!

Does that matter? If the version mono sets is 1.1, then .NET 2.0 apps will give the same error.

Very simple splash page:

Index.htm is in UNICODE, do NOT open it in ANSI!

One XHTML 1.0 Trans error. Can't figure out why the error is happening though, I'm pretty sure I closed the HEAD tag correctly.

Re: Thank you VERY much!

Too bad Mono doesn't support .NET 2 nor .NET 3. Actually, mono has been supporting .NET 2.0 for a while now: http://www.sdtimes.com/link/32935 Of course it's not 100% compatible with .NET 2.0, but pretty close to it. Pete when I ran an installer for a .NET 3 app, it gave me an error and listed my c...

Re: Thank you VERY much!

I think it is a lot safer for us to stick to Mono Framework. Since most of our recent source code is in C# this shouldn't be a problem. Unless Microsoft goes open source with the .NET Framework I think it is too risky to use it based on what I am hearing. Pete Soheil DigiOz Multimedia http://www.di...

Re:

There are only two desktops, 4 were a long time ago. :) Personally, I like that multiple desktop thing, but probably a tiny button (which opens a desktop chooser) should be enough. Or do what Ubuntu does. CRTL+ALT+Arrow Left/Right to shift desktops and show an animation or dialog that shows the dce...
