The bigger problem is application compatability. I guess you'll just have to find a suite of software that does what the studdents need.

Stripping linux shouldn't be that hard, just don't use a comercial distro. :D

A pre-alpha os doesn't seem like the greatest os for this application.

The GPL has always been restrictive, as opposed to the BSD License. Anyway, a lot of code is copyrighted by people who aren't involved in the project any more (Hartmut *sigh*), you'd have to get their permission as well. Nope, the GPL allows it to be relicenced under future versions of the GPL. Rea...

I don't think that the version3 is more interesting than v2, in fact it seem more restrictive... The GPL has always been restrictive, as opposed to the BSD License. The GPLv3 makes restrictions on DRM. I really think we should use it.

... another 0.2.x release wouldn't make sense. Yeah, because this is a major rewrite of the system. The audited code could be called 0.3 and then increment versions based on requirements (current 0.3, 0.5, etc) by 0.1. So the working network release would be 0.4. Network was pretty far along before...

How many times has that been said before another 0.2.x release is made?

What's the next tag going to be called?

I'm wondering what the next tag is going to be called. Obviously it can't be called 0.2.10 or 0.3 because it will be less feature complete. Giving it a lower number might conflict with older version numbers from the dirty releases. Anything known on this subject?

I guess you will be disappointed. The audited trunk is almost empty. It's about 10% of the whole code. I am sure this will increase soon when the wine code is moved, wich I think should be clean. But it might take some time (month) until you can compile again and it will then miss a lot of it's rec...

I'd suggest you wait until that one's true before putting it on a t-shirt.
Yeah, I wouldn't use it until we got something that's at least beta.

Re: A Creative Alternative?

A creative alternative would be to download the ROS logo or image and add ones own wording/text. One would then reverse the image and print it onto a t-shirt transfer paper. One could iron it onto a t-shirt or any other cloth item. It might be some work but I have done something similar for Disneys...

Not exactly the same thing. A t-shirt is something you wear in public and is cleary visable.
