Yes, but I was thinking of the boot loader, that could mess up things, no ?
Well, in fact I don't really know, but I would back up myself even if there's no risk ;)

Then, yes, you can try to have it working, but you'd better back up your hdd before doing anything ;) As far as I know, USB is partly supported, but not in the installation, so you'll need a PS2 keyboard & mouse (maybe the notebook keyboard is supported, i don't know). Anyway, if you've backed u...

I'm afraid you'll have to wait a few versions before being able to use ReactOS as the main OS, it's still in alpha state for the moment ;)

Re: The Shell explorer

Hi, I wanted to know if someone, like me, think that the ROS Explorer (not the shell, I mean, the program to see the files) looks a bit old fashion ? It's not pretty at all, and not as powerful/easy to use than the Windows' one, is it planned to do a simpler/cleaner version one day ? It is work in ...

It's strange, because it seems that thing happens quite often when testing other apps, do the devs are going to focus on this part ?
Maybe it's because of a bitmap format unsupported or something ?

Translate into french

Hi ! I realised that many stuffs where not translated into french, like the forum, the left menu in the forum, ... And a few mistakes too. Are the not-translated things a limitation of the ROS website, or it can be translated ? If it can be translated, I would agree to do it (i'm not very sure how t...

Dr. Fred wrote:Not source code, disassembly. That is a difference.
Because there is disassembly code in ReactOS ???
I said source code because I was watching the topic title I guess ;)

There's no point, because here we're talking about the ReactOS design, not the design of any shell replacement. I do care about the design, but not for a replacement. And as you're talking about a closed source shell, the ros guys cannot use things from it, so there's no point talking of it here... ...

BTW, who is this guy that claimed there was use of Windows code in ROS ? He was a developper ? Harmut Birr. One of the earliest and most respected developers. It's quite strange he said that, does someone talked with him to know why he said that ? It's strange he would just say that without proof o...

But who cares about shell replacement ?
When ROS will be finished, you should then be able to use a shell replacement, if you want too, as ROS is aimed to act like Windows, it should be possible...
But I don't really see the point in talking about it here...

Can someone tell me something ? Is it illegal to use assembly from windows to write a c-function that does exectly the same. Well, if you don't put the ASM code directly in your code, there's no problem ;) If what you all are doing is to convert the ASM code in C-equivalent code, I don't really thi...

Un truc pas très important

Salut !
