Re: WSUS and ASP or PHP

I agree that WSUS 3.0 (I like the newest changes a lot) are a great start of an interface. It is very easy to maintain. I only do not agree on ASP being used because it is only possible on Windows with IIS. We have no IIS or .NET in order to use or make ASP work. We can however get PHP to do the sa...

ReactOS Easter Eggs?

Are there any ReactOS Easter Eggs(hidden features)? I am just interested because windows has had easter eggs until recently(well, 7 years ago). And I was wondering, are there any such hidden goodies in ReactOS? If not, that is a shame, but they are windows features, and some may want the known easte...

uxtheme.dll is not exactly not working. Applications/dlls that should be linked to uxtheme.dll are not. So yes you can install a theme but nothing will use the information to put it on screen. As you noticed andrewweb remove the dll just removes the changes under windows. Wine has uxtheme.dll all h...

Hi, I like the idea for this however I cant seem to test it as the link is dead? Also I have tested some windows compiled code in ROS and found that some flavours of basic work (vb with the addition of a few files, freebasic and NBasic.) I am sure with (or hopefully without) tweaking it would run n...

While i do not know how server-side software at Microsoft Update Server works, i believe that it is not written on PHP. Windows Update site at microsoft.com is just a front-end (as far as i understand, it uploads some active-x component into your browser for it to communicate with real update serve...

There are more important matters then a boot screen.
Well, yes, but if you don't think the bootscreen is important, don't come in the design forum!

Automatic Updates?

Reactos needs an Automatic Updates system. Also, it should download and install updates at the same time to speed things up(so it would download update 1, start installing it, and while update 1 installs, update 2 is downloaded etc..). Plus, it should support resumable downloads(like xp's updater). ...

Saying RectOS is alpha is not usefull.. It's true but useless. This way we can just ignore all bugs saying "meh it's alpha" and stop developing. andrewweb: Thanks for testing ReactOS! Please be aware that this forum is not good place to report bugs. If you encountered some, please fill in Bugzilla ...

Sorry

I see your point, but the reason I made this poll, was that I think if we have firefox and openoffice and thunderbird bundled(but chose upon install), it would greatly help some new users, as they may need an office suite but can't afford it, or don't want to have to wait a long time for openoffice....

You DO realize that it's because of a bug, right? Wow! I didn't know that. Well, I did sort-of know. Because I could not boot reactos 0.3.1, and it had the bootscreen. It just hanged. Whilst later reactos didn't have it, and now the livecd(not to mention installed version) works! By the way, it may...

Bundle useful software like OpenOffice.org? Vote now!

Devs, could reactos come with OpenOffice.org, firefox and other useful open-source software bundled? Or if not , could we have an option in setup to choose to have these?(like minimal(nothing), typical(openoffice.org, firefox and other useful software) and custom(choose programs)). Then the user cou...
