Instead of a bounty system for developers, how about a pledge system for the ReactOS Foundation? Example: Somebody might say, I will donate $X to ReactOS for a fully functional USB stack. Other people might chip in, some developer steps in, does it, and although they don't get any money, ReactOS as...

A bonty hunter system is bad dections, I will not support it for allot reason. it will make at end all devloper will only work for money and do not care about other thing. Out of an idealistic point of view, I would agree with you, but in real life people do work for money, however looking at my ow...

Hi, I first would like to see counter how much money has been donated to ReactOS (see Wikipedia website for example). Also is there some update on the bounty system ? I suggest a moderated bounty submission system (perhaps a subforum) , where users can discuss "wanted" ReactOs extentions. ...

Is PPP needed initially with ReactOS?

It would be nice if you have a mobile computer, but for fixed PC's, external networks will be probably be available via Wifi or wired networks.

Most people don't have mobile computers yet and if they do, it probably came with a pre-installed (Windows) OS.

Thanks for the link, it's a nice definition of free software is. :) I assume many professionals like me use NTFS based partitons with Windows 2000, XP (Home) or soon Vista. Like with past Windows "upgrades", I believe that many people initially will be using dual boot systems (till ReactOS...

This is a DOS driver, and ReactOS can only load (some) Windows NT drivers. Also, it's no free software, so it shouldn't be used in ReactOS anyway. It may work even if it's a DOS driver and ReactOs may incorporated it somehow or be adjusted to work with NTFS4Dos. BTW it's FREE for personal use, so i...

Been away for a couple of weeks.
Did anyone have a look at Datapol's NTFS4Dos?

http://www.datapol.de/dpe/recovery/ntfs/index.html

I have installed it on a floppy and at first glance it does NOT seem to use any Windows proprietary files.

And... it's free for personal use!

I just stumbled on NTFS4Dos. I took a quick look at it and it seems like NTFSDos (from Sysinternals) however without needing the legacy Windows NTFS-driver. I somewhere read it supports basic NTFS partitions and dynamic volumes (no RAID or Striping though.) It's free for private use and € 19,00 for ...

Re: OpenGL or DirectX (ReactX)
In ReactOS we will have a DirectX-clone (ReactX or what ever we will call it) why not aim for this rather then OpenGL?
Dear Jaix, bringing the subject back on faster development of ReactOS ;-), why bother with programming an DirectX alternative? I presume that whoever needs DirectX ...

Faster development of ReactOS... (proposal)

I was thinking of a way to develp ReactOS faster.. and came up with the following ideas: 1. Learn c/c++, learn RFC's, Windows API etc... however because I don't program for a living, so it's gonna be some long years before I could contribute to this project (personal) 2. Try to get some sponsering, ...

0.3.0 has been due every release since 0.2.5 which was meant to be the last in the 0.2.* saga. However the main pre-requisit for 0.3.0 is networking support, which has ... What happened to ReactOS 0.3.0 ?

I am just going nuts overhere. Am I living in the Twilightzone? I have some vivid remembrance of reactOS 0.3.0 being launch, but somehow the current version seems to be 0.2.8 and I can't seem to find any link to articles about the 0.3.0 version, nor why it has been withdrawn. Please help me out, wha...
