Re: Inofficial ReactOS shop

well... I don't quite like it... but anyways...

he's talking about like a year ago when someone (don't remember who) told him he could do it if the money went to ReactOS... but taking that as "approval" is stretching it a lot

no, there is no DX10 from MS.... beta SDK is not the same as the final redistributable version, so it's not a matter of looking for it, it simply does not exist AFAIK from that forum, it works relatively fine on XP, they only had to trick DX to see a DX10 compatible video card where there is none......

many people have gotten xp to run on a usb stick, but that is not the issue.

once reactos can actually read from a usb drive, then having it booting from there is almost trivial

it´s not fully vaporware... they do have a lot of semi-working code, just not what they wanted to achieve... it was reviewed by Stefan Dösinger from wine and unfortunately, most of it will not be of use for them... I guess that also applies to reactos, but at least parts of it might prove somewhat u...

I like this idea, it looks very good

but as aart3k said, look at openSUSE's kickoff http://en.opensuse.org/Kickoff.... they've made several surveys and studies on the way the start menu should work and that's why KDE is adopting it too...

Vista's new audio system is actually a very good, low-latency one, WaveRT.... it's really the one thing I like about Vista xD... what might be a nightmare is running all old audio applications on Vista, as they will almost for sure not work... try upgrading to the latest... Ableton 6.0.9 works prett...

all of the openoffice components share the same code, so if writer works, the others should too.... what I don't understand is how you installed writer only... as that's not possible :P ... you can't separate OOo components and install one and not the others
