Re: PR Test Respin

Why do you think volunteers want to be given work without respect to their hobbies/passions/desires? Why is it that there is this 'disconnect'? PR stands for PUBLIC RELATIONS, does it not? Doesn't that mean "people that are good at making the PUBLIC happy and willing to open their wallets"...

VM rantings. does VBox do this, too?

I should have mentioned this a long time ago, but I assumed everyone experienced these issues. Maybe VBox is better? Issues I have using ReactOS in VMWare 7.x I cannot change the CD in the drive and expect ROS to update the disc was changed without rebooting. A 'refresh' of the window has no effect,...

Re: What bed comforter design would be good for a 13 year-ol

I'll update the wiki with better wording about sandbox features within antivirus programs...

I had never really fiddled with it, personally... I just disable the a/v when it kicks in at bad times.

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

I have to agree on the leave threads unlocked idea... There has been entirely too many threads locked on the internet, let's not perpetuate it here. And you have a good point about it- encountering a need to respond after the time period a 'mod' deemed long enough not referring to anyone here In fac...

Re: ReactOS Version

Well, not sure if this helps you, but if you Right Click 'My Computer' and click Properties, you'll get an info screen that lists the revision in the bottom left side. I resort to looking here all the time, as I try so many different revisions out and forget which VM is which revision. If you are ho...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

I was thinking of reviewing a trunk build each week (Maybe Friday +10UTC), and posting the results. I thought about doing that also, but decided to focus on what I am doing here right now. I do think it could be a great idea, I just couldn't come to grips with how to accomplish it personally. By al...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

How about this format? I think it covers all the suggestions quite well and is much easier to read. I apologize there isn't any new information in this post, simply re-phrasing and re-organizing. I have forgone the strictly chronological order in favor of my attempt at more 'logical grouping', as su...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

I like the idea of weekly updates highlighting important fixes and patches. So perhaps I should just do a single thread per week? I really really like this idea. New thread per week, all comments are for that one week's worth of 'news'. Would make it easier for newbies to 'catch up', and might make...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

I've made some layout changes to make it easier for me to put this together. Please share your thoughts and comments on the change. Thank you! And as before, my comments are italics and all bold is taken directly from the ROS-DIFFS mailing list. July 23th, 2012 to July 25th, 2012 56957: Change tota...

Re: Most stablest combinations of Reactos-Hardware or Virtua

Well, I have had a ReactOS install run stable for over 3 hours while surfing the web through FF2. By the same token, same install, I've had it crash in 3 minutes. It really does come down to what exactly you have installed software-wise, hardware-wise, driver-wise, and how 'hard' are you pushing it....

July 23rd, 2012 Edition... CONTINUED! More GDI fixes and improvments Specific BSOD event has been patched related to closing handles on the same pipe concurrently. (Sounds like, in non-code-language, a memory leak was fixed?) More code cleanup (tabs removed) RAPPS has been updated! New programs add...

Re: Intel network card installed, now machine won't boot

This is a response and not an edit of my previous rantings and wanderings on this subject in case anyone else travel close to that road. The end result is I used a W2K driver package version 1.72 I had been fiddling with the universal package, which included driver version 1.77 The driver that worke...

User created News on ReactOS development

Noticed I can't post anything in the 'News' section, so I made this here. I would really like to include something similar to this post on the Homepage, as well as in the 'News' section of the forum. I do not know if I can maintain this on my own, but I will try. Thoughts? Suggestions? User created ...
