Re: 2012 reboot competition

Or, why not a ReactOS improvement competition? I guess it takes one step at a time. Would be happy that first people on the mainstream side would take conscience of how extreme Windows can work and then slowly we could work to replace/move this focus onto a ROS build competition. One step at a time...

2012 reboot competition

Hello my friends, I'd like to announce the opening of the 2012 reboot competition. The aim this year is to break down Windows 7 installations to a overall size weight bellow 100Mb and then compete for the most innovative projects: http://reboot.pro/topic/17801-reboot-competition-the-smallest-win7-pe...

DirectX 9 will still be a standard for at least another year - not everyone at home will upgrade to Vista so soon. And there should be backward compatibility from most game companies - they're all about users playing their games on as many machines as possible. Look at quake as an example.. DirectX ...

It's even smaller (all unneccessary symbols etc. stripped away)
Where can we download this version?

I also agree that ROS is really growing to become a #1 OS.. :D

I've downloaded the source code and found the inf files wich will compose the registry: hivecls.inf hivedef.inf hiveinst.inf hivesft.inf hivesys.inf livecd.inf The livecd.inf is what seems to matter, but how should it be compiled? I guess "make" is the prefered way, there isn't any other m...

Editing ReactOS registry hives outside ReactOS?

Is it possible at this moment to edit the registry hives outside the ReactOS environment? ReactOS hives have different binary format from the ones used on windows 9x or even NT/XP/2003. Some time ago I've downloaded reactOS 0.1.2 wich didn't used a config folder yet and was based on INF files - have...

Found the solution!! The problem was that WinImage and others were extracting the files and converting them to uppercase. Here are my steps: I've mounted the ISO as a virtual drive Copied all contents into a folder Added the boot sector image on the root of this folder Created the ISO using cdmake....
