Re: MS-DOS 3.3 refuses to install

I don't know the level of your expertise and I have not used VMWare in a long time but here goes: Make sure your VM is set to "BIOS" or "CSM" mode. DOS used BIOS calls to detect the HD. After, boot from the floppy and use "FDISK" to create the partition and "Format" to make the drive ready. Good Luck.

Re: This insane 7-foot Lego Halo spaceship took 4 years to b

pfff, sure, pop my bubble why don't you :P

I'm sure a production kit would be cheaper than trying to assemble it from many kits.... say $1000 vs $4000.

and time, I have lots of that once I retire. I'd want to restore my Caddy first but that lego kit would be fun. :D

Re: Can command.com or powershell record its I/O?

The command.com/cmd.exe equivalent of "cat" is "type". There is no equivalent of "tee" under those environments. However, under powershell, "tee" does work. The closest thing in cmd.exe that you could do is "type" the file to a redirected file then type it to the screen: type file.txt >> anotherfile...

I had this hang on real hardware and was able to get around it by changing my cdrom drive from slave to master. Then I was able to get up and running. Now I'm having a problem with chipsets, still working on that one.
