That article is great for explaining how to get sound working in VMware, but it would be nice to know how to get sound working on real hardware.

Why not implement it in 0.3.1?

Adding a software to packmgr (NOT the CD) means just adding a link to download location on the net in packmgr source code, I thought. In that case, ReactOS isn't really redistributing the software, right?

Just because Vista will be "released to manufacturing" doesn't mean that people will instantly get their hands on it. They (the consumers) (un)fortunately aren't gonna be able to get Vista before January. Besides I don't think Microsoft will be able to pull that date of anyway.

It's unfortunate that no build seem to be bootable.

I'd also like a bootcd and a livecd of a recent build. All of them seem broken.

A good day for releasing it may be October 25th. It's an important day for MS Windows; not only because it's Windows XP's 5th anniversary, it's also the day Windows Vista is planned to be released to manufacturing.

I'd suggest adding some games to the packmgr that works good with ROS like the demos of Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Quake (1, I'm not sure if 2 works), ScummVM (with Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen and maybe some demos) and maybe DOSBox with some DOS demo games. OpenTTD require...

For me, ReactOS hangs when ever I have a USB device plugged in when the driver wizard tries to install a driver for a "System Device" comes up. I don't think it has to do with the driver either, since my mouse works fine too before the wizard hangs ROS.

I have the same problem with my mouse. This error wasn't in version 0.2.9 either. I think it has something to do with the new driver install wizard trying to install driver that freezes the computer.

The most wanted feature in 0.3.1 for me is working network capabilities on my NIC (Intel PRO/100 VE).

I hope they release Linux Vista in January.
