You guys have gotten way off target.
Will this OS run with drivers given by manufacturers on their cd's or downloaded off the internet ? Xp and 2k ?
I don't understand something here. I thought ROS could run windows drivers.
Why do we need write drivers for this OS ?

It's terrible that we reinvent the wheel all the time with NEW operating systems
It's a damn waste.
We need alternative to X for desktop. I know there is some progress with directfb.
Why not use DirectFB's drivers ?

Reverse engineering window's drivers
Would it not be great if somehow there was some software that could speed up the process to reverse engineer all the windows drivers. Excellent link on how difficult. These are USB driver examples. http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7353 http://www.reactivated.net/weblog/archives/2005/08/reverse-en...

I didn't know a filesystem was so difficult to code ?
I am just looking for some compatibility , not great speed or for it to be used as primary file system.
I hope there can be some hack that can work. The link I posted earlier is NTFS for linux .l

The lack of support kills compatibility with XP.
How difficult would this be ? Is the project above compatible with licensing?

re:
They would mention that because they don't want any copied versions used. It's a precaution to stop license infringers.
