Actually, I'd looove to see an ARM OS that could run normal (If recompiled) Standard Windows Apps. In fact, that would make my day. The problem with Windows CE. . .Is that near enough everything about it flatly sucks. The GUI has one good part to it, namely the Today Screen. After that point I think...

AERO

Hmm. A "highly optimized" GUI featuring transparencies and other neat little special effects. I have to say, it seems awfully like KDE in places, which ran at full whack on my old Pentium 233 notebook with 96MB Ram. Actually, Windows XP ran at full whack on that, too. If only I still had it, I could...

To be honest, I've just always flat out hated NTFS. Horrifically incompatible with any other OS, and FAT32 VS NTFS I've had more corruptions on the Journaling system. I'm not saying that it's not a necessary evil, but I certainly don't think it hould be used as a root partition driver for ReactOS. O...

And I never believed them when they said that Oxford is for the high-class students, Durham is for the smart ones. . .

He's a completely innapropriate thought for an Alpha. . Has anyone ever thought of making a non-static bootsplash?

Say. . Maybe a short animation or video clip? I mean if SGI can do it, why can't you! (Referring to the audio file played on Boot on the Indy)

Apple are supposedly releasing a windows version of the Cocoa API. So the ReactOS guys don't NEED to make it OSX compatible.

Hmm. . I'd use it for network serving, because Windows Server is horrifically overpriced and I never worked out how to do that part of Linux. YET.

I'd also use it for a desktop or two around the house, Maybe for the kids. . While the Adults played with OpenBSD, Slackware, IRIX, Solaris. . .

Yeah, stop using a shoddy beta of the worst OS currently in development.

Seriously, why are you using Vista? Windows XP is more stable, have a nearly identical feature set, and can run current software.

"ThePhysicist" And university. Doesn't that say it all? UNIX type OS's are "Cool" because they show that the user has an IQ of above 3. I think that the biggest problem with UNIX as a Desktop OS is that all the attempts to make it a suitable Desktop OS have been half-assed and poorly attempted. When...

Maybe your boards just don't like the ReactOS bootloader.

I had a few problems once with an NCR S20 server that had to be booted by floppy to start the Slackware installer, and then wouldn't boot lilo either.

I've got a POS (Till, not insult) that won't boot Windows > 95. Sod all you can do, really.
