Re: Opening hive file failed! (after successful installation)

Forget hardware for the moment and test it in a VM, that proves the concept of ReactOS if that's what you want to do. If you are merely testing to see if ReactOS works on that hardware then you have probably done a successful test, ie. it doesn't! In truth, having any expectations that ReactOS will...

Re: Opening hive file failed! (after successful installation)

bootcd-0.4.15-dev-1336-gd6d5cae-x86-gcc-lin-dbg works for me using an HP Compaq ne6120 laptop. USB does not work, but that may change in future revisions. So the only suggestion I can give, is to acquire a computer from the Windows XP era, or keep trying the latest revision, once every month. All 3...

Re: Opening hive file failed! (after successful installation)

I would try a re-install and see if that sorts the problem. Try the latest pre-release build ReactOS-0.4.14-RC-51-g286bfe9-iso.zip , that may work. The keyboard doesn't work in the setup in that version, cannot select language EDIT: Tested on 3 different PCs. One gets stuck discovering devices, the...

If you are unable to boot without being stopped by the hive loading error, then have a rea...

Re: Opening hive file failed! (after successful installation)

The "Ramdisk" boot item menu is a template, where you have yourself to manually change the file name and provide a RAM raw disk image file. I see, I don't really care about that option anyway. I have also tested it on another early XP era laptop, Clevo D410s, Celeron 2.4ghz but it can't f...

Opening hive file failed! (after successful installation)

Hi, I have an old Samsung V25 laptop, which has a 2002 pentium 4 2.8ghz, 512mb ram, 40gb ide hdd, and intel 82845g chipset. I am able to successfully install ReactOS using the bootcd, but when I try to choose an option from the boot menu, it will fail to load, saying: "Opening hive file failed&...
