I understand how you feel, you just found this site and you think its the coolest thing ever. However, the development is going far to slow and you think its up to you alone to spur it along. The only problem is that you don't know how to code, so you focus on the only think that you can visualize, ...

Don't port Beryl

The Toy'd project looks far mor promising as far as a 3d desktop for widows. http://www.toyd.org . Best of all, they are already developing for windows so no work from the reactos team is needed. More info: http://forum.beryl-project.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2540 Videos: http://www.youtube.com/w...

CustomEyes seems to be shareware and not open gpl. Illumination sounds like it would require a complete rewrite of the current explore, and Modspots looks like it's just add ons for other open source shell projects. Shellwm looks like the best option by far, and the themes aren't half bad (http://ww...

Wow, everybody's so harsh. I think this is an excellent first step, its on par if not better than the current menu (better IMHO), and its as good as any of the other mock ups I've seen. I would suggest you view menu designs from some of the linux distros for some pointers since this is not very orig...

The compatibility program is wine, the list of compatible windows programs links directly to the wine page. I really don't see anything new brought to the table hear.

shutdown does not work

As all of you know, when you hit shutdown then answer yes, nothing happens. However, I have noticed that if you wait between roughly 10-30min Reactos will in fact shutdown. I was hoping someone else could confirm this on there machine. Real hardware AMD64 Chaintech Summit Si689 motherboard (networki...

I think that logout screen would be great for Ros, I also think the Ubuntu login screen after boot is quite nice as well.

By the way, that background shows the most stereotypical depiction of diffrent ethnicities that I have ever seen.

I believe it is ok, the icon set will just be under a diffrent licence than the rest of the project. Since the icon set is not fundemental to the project, it does not have to be GPL. Also, the tango project is still open source, and the licence specified is quite similar to the GPL. Finally, the Rea...
