Re: Is anyone working on a react os ide?

learn_more wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:31 pm Why would you spend time on something like this if you can use visual studio?
The issue is visual studio doesn't use the win32 api and doesn't look native to react os and is not open source.
Other alternatives like code blocks aren't as easy to use and still don't look native to win32

Re: some programs I would like to see in react os

The point was to provide a development environment for users to use on react os to attract developers. The more and easier programs being written on react the more bugs are found which in turn makes react os more stable. However I don't see the point in using windows at all for react os development ...

Re: some programs I would like to see in react os

I don't think we should add newer visual studio's to react os as they are written in wpf instead of win32.

I think we should write our own ide and thats actually what I am trying to learn win32 for right now

@dizt3mp3r ah ok

This is such a beautiful project

I came across this when looking for a windows alternative and I got to say it's a beautiful project I hope this succeeds. If this ever gets out of alpha it could potentially throw Microsoft off their throne. not only could it have 100% compatibility with window executable but it would be open source...

Are there any plans on writing a official ide for .net languages?

Are there any plans on writing a official ide for .net languages once this os comes out of beta?
I think a rewrite of winforms and a ide to go along with it for C++, VB.net C# and F# would bring a lot of people over.
Not to mention .net 5 is going open source and cross platform.
