Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

My internet search was how I found out about this project in the first place mate. lol If you Google Windows alternative this OS is labeled at the top of the list. There are videos on it and everything labeling it as such. It is advertised on many web sites as such. You referenced the FAQ well let's...

Re: React os for daily use

Everyone can build a ReactOS ISO. We made things way too simple already here ^^ And as you can read above and in my signature, we don't recommend ROS on a productive system. If you dare to do it and it eats your cat/dog/rat/snake etcetc it's your own fault. Ya I'll more then likely try to mimic my ...

Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

if you really want people actually using your OS then... That's where you are wrong. We do NOT want users. Well if I am indeed wrong which wouldn't surprise me with judging by the amount of years this project has been in the Alpha stage then it probably should not be advertised as the Windows alter...

Re: React os for daily use

I thought I read some where that a 64 bit version had been pushed out. It's been brought to the point of being bootable, but only just. It isn't officially available to the public as an ISO yet, but you can build your own if you really want to test with it. My skills aren't that advanced to build m...

Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

Even if you like Linux, it was not created to please you. ReactOS has the same situation. I found this part interesting because I've heard that before in regards to OS'es, various software, games and what not. I want to point out first it was obviously created to please those developing it because ...

Re: React os for daily use

For daily use I would personally wait until they pushed out a 64 bit version of the OS that could actually operate on most systems with out crashing utilizing the full range of your system specifications. In it's current form I'd only consider using this on older hardware designed for the times back...

Re: Why is ReactOS based on a 17-year-old version of Windows?

Wall of words. Could you please distill your opinion so it is clear what you meant. Who are you directing that to? The OP, me, or who mate? lol Might want to be a bit more clear and distill the direction of your query since the term wall of words if a phrase generally used on someone who has writte...

Re: Why is ReactOS based on a 17-year-old version of Windows?

I gotta be honest as a gamer I been debating on looking at this project for a long time now and if it were modeled after Windows Bloatware 10 I'd totally not be interested in it at all what so ever. Windows XP was IMO the ultimate gaming OS out of all of the Windows versions out there and had they u...
