- No, it is true. I'm using Windows XP Simplified Chinese Version With SP2. And the Boot menu can display Chinese Characters - video mode is 640 x 480 x 16 colors( INT 10h Mode 12h). SO, I think, Other Version of Windows NT may have the same functions, too. - Since Freeldr is some kind of NT's loade...

[Suggestion] Can Freeldr be localized?
> Currently, Freeldr is woking in the video mode of 80*25, text mode. A certain version of Grub 0.95 has Simplified Chinese support, and we aslo know the next generation of Grub ( V2.0 ) has been re-designed and having 1stly Japanese supported. And the Windows' NTLDR also has fully Localization supp...

@steveh: > Here, the GUI part of Avldr.exe cannot load the ReactOS. It currently is only an installer of Avldr.exe if you have boot.ini on the boot pratition. > I know that you have 2 primary partition, and having Win98 installed on the 2nd one. So, I want to know, when you boot the Win98, how about...

- Grub+memdisk can support Dos/Win98 partition image. I mean, if you have an minial Win98 system, you can Winimage to create a partition image to a file, and use grub+memdisk to load it into your ram, and boot it. -this partition image file can be compressed with zip- ;-) - But, I have not test this...

To steveh: ______________________ The problem, "ntoskrnl.exe" is missing reported by Freeldr, I think, is so strange. The version of Freeldr inside the Avldr is 2.0 which comeing from ReactOS 2.6. I'll try, and find out what's the reason. And the crushing of Avldr.exe on Win98, I'm sorry to say, I ...

>> Yes , this is another approach for system booting. But, it this kind of driver is aviable, I think, the Windows PE could be loaded from an iso file, not installing it to the hosted filesystem - PE-virus can destory this mini system, and we cannot use this WinPE to recover our main system. ;-) >> ...

[suggestion] Make ReactOS booting from an ISO file
:D ` Currentlly, ReactOS has 2 release, the ISO version, the diskimage. We know, the ReactOS is designed as a replacement of Windows NT system, a windows device driver test-platform, and so on. I usually use Windows XP Pro. as my developing platform, but when I want to preview the new release of Rea...

:D Yes, the Freeldr inside the Avldr.exe is under GPL, but I don't think the Avldr.exe must be under the GPL. Here, Avldr.exe is a little applet been designed for makeing Freeldr easier to use when user is not so familier with the ReactOS or Freeldr; especially the Windows user. ;-) In technical, Fr...

Free for all
This applet is designed for all of pc boot-lovers.
I'll add a license file to this applet package while the next beta
version avaible.
Here, we must put a freeldr.ini to c:\, and put avldr.exe to
c:\, too.
Wish this tool will help you.

Load Freeldr from both NTLDR and Pure-DOS mode
We know Freeldr.sys can be loaded by Grub, or the NTLDR. But both of the operation are complicated for some of us. So, I try to make it simple to apply. The Avldr.exe is a 3in1 loader for Freeldr/Grub/ISOEmu. Here the '3in1' I mean, althouth it is a single file, it can be used in 3 modes: - as a Wi...
