Re: New Windows-like Kali Linux theme

Kali Linux is not a small noname distribution. If Kali doing it, than it is legal. And if it is legal for Kali, then it is legal for ReactOS, too. Maybe Kali Linux is not a noname distribution, but there is no link with the fact is legal or not. For example, Ubuntu add the MP3 drivers in the past a...

Re: SAMBA, Cygwin, and appcompat

A native version of Samba 4.11 would be better. I wonder why they didn't make one for Windows?

ReactOS seems to be quiet at the moment with the feature-related news.
It's true there is no news on the website but on the IRC and the Forum you can have some.

major releases monthly?
There is an average of three months between the "stable" alpha releases, but it's not a rule.

Re: ReactOS built in C# (crazy idea)

ReactOS built in C#, is not the question for the moment. The real question is the development of the unimplemented features, and the development is already in C/C+ and ASM. The rewriting would be a loss of manpower for no progress. But in the future when ReactOS will be release in stable version, wh...

[News] PowerToys Opensorced by Microsoft

Microsoft released the code of the new PowerToys in Open Source.
Bellow the URL of the source, maybe it could be used for the development of ReactOS:

Re: Help please

You know ReactOS is in alpha state ? That means, it's not ready to install on real hardware except to test and not compatible to the most part of components.

Re: Synaptics Validity 91 Fingerprint Sensor Support

Try the Windows version with compatibility, maybe it will be faster than waiting for a build from another OS.

Re: My experiences using ReactOS as a server OS

Firstly your VPS should be virtualized with KVM or XEN to get it work, secondly, based on my experiences, is better to install ReactOS from a QEMU VM virtualized with a linux distro (virtualization over virtualization) and applying a patch to disable the entire usb thing, because ReactOS has high p...

Yes but for now, ReactOS doesn't have a ARM version (and no work begin). It's only x86 (32bit) and the development of 64bit it's not finish yet. If you want install ReactOS on it, it will be only in VM (like VirtualBox, VMware, QEMU...).

Re: Wayland gives ReactOS new life?

I don't understand all this thread, Wayland is for Linux and ReactOS has no link with it. ReactOS use its own GUI based on ReactOS Explorer. I mean, is it possible to build ReactOS with just a command-line and run an X server and desktop environment on top of it? For that you use an Wayland Linux D...

Re: Windows 10 now hides local account option

Just for the record this feature can be re-enabled if you unplug the ethernet cable or remove the Wi-Fi dongles then the offline local account creation would show as normal. Made the same think at work, and before reconnect I disable Local Update and put the flow of update to 5%, because without th...
