Mass, mass apologies for seeming to disappear on all of this, that originally wasn't my intention at all, but RL just had other plans for me. I will be restarting the Newsletter right where the last one left off... after I sift through the 500+ Commits since the last one I recieved via the Ros-Svn M...

The core file used is 57MB (Via SVN).

Assuming the free player is based on 5.x, I can do weekly ones, uploaded to Sourceforge.

Once you have basic networking done, updates directly to ROS then become a reality a la ReactOS Update. If you're going to support networking drivers, support for Integrated Network Ports (Like those on current motherboards, i.e. nForce 4) should not be forgotten. One thing we can do is cram more dr...

Re: NTFS read/write support is planned for later releases.

Where does it say that a windows os has to have NTFS. Just something that can trick programs that it has would be enough. Well, the ReactOS Goal is to create an OS that is based off of WinNT. NTFS is an integral part of WinNT, and is indeed needed for compatibility with existing Windows Installatio...

Which NTFS Versions to support initially?

I looked on the Wiki, and saw that NTFS read/write support is planned for later releases. Version.. 1.4?... Is included with Windows NT 4.0, but that had now become somewhat depreceated. Windows 2000 and Windows XP Support NTFS 3.0, and 3.1 Respectively. Would these not be a better implementation ro...

Actually, I suspect that it means integrating Xen technology into each of ROS' Subsystems (Win32, Linux, OS/2, Java, DOS, or any others that might be considered), so that you can run more than one at once.

I suspect that this PM can be modified for upgrades to ROS itself a la Windows Update. Ultimatetely, ths program should be used to Spread the Word about Open-Source Projects. And the best thing is, it'll work on Windows, too. To Do: Proper Text for Actions (i.e. Connecting, Downloading [With % and F...

1. Unknown if Installation would work. TCP/IP is currently not finished, so Networking and Web Browsing are not available. TCP/IP is currently scheduled for ROS 0.3.0 2. More than likely not, at least, not until a Later version of ROS. 3. Install Windows 98 first, then ROS, since 98 is very paranoid...

Instead of working on a ROS-Branded Media Player, why not use an existing Open-Source Media Player: VideoLAN.

This uses an Internal Codec Base (So, no need for an Immediate Worry over Internal Codecs)

From what I have seen, VLC looks like a Veritable Asset for Inclusion in ROS.
