Re: ReactOS 0.3.17 won't boot from USB on two thin clients
Yeah, the NAND is a DiskOnModule plugged into a standard 44Pin IDE laptop connector. Is it possible to use the bootcd in RAM and install from there? Alternatively I could do a hacky HDD install method (ie. copy install files to a small partition, then boot from there and use the rest of the NAND as ...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.17 won't boot from USB on two thin clients
Did that. Wiki documentation was a little confusing but used a business server VM to compile a version of ReactOS from the SVN. Can confirm the "LiveCD in RAM" menu appears; and ReactOS will boot. Is it possible to install from the LiveCD onto the thin client's NAND? Other than that, now I...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.17 won't boot from USB on two thin clients
Well, I can get into the KDB:> prompt, it bluescreens with 0x7B. So I know that it's trying to find the USB but since USB support is still in alpha, it's no-go.
How do I make a HybridCD, or at least make the LiveCD load into RAM?

Ok. So what would be a work around for this, to boot on a CD-less machine? LAN Boot?Z98 wrote:At present the expectation is that ROS will not work when attempting to boot from USB. Until the USB stack is considerably improved it will likely stay that way.

Re: ReactOS 0.3.17 won't boot from USB on two thin clients
Tried to boot on the second test box, it still gives a black screen. I'll try the first one in a few.
EDIT: Nope, both won't boot. Just black screen.

ReactOS 0.3.17 won't boot from USB on two thin clients
Hi guys, I've been wanting to evaluate ReactOS as an operating system, as I remember it from the early days and thought "Heck, this is going to be a good OS if it can bring back Windows XP in a more secure and less buggy manner". I'll cut to the cheese and explain what I've tried running t...
