Re: LiveUSB Question

I would think it would be working once we have full USB support. One of the issues of that is having USB drivers while in the BIOS, bootloader, and then in the OS. So patience would be my guess since if we get one of them working smoothly then the rest should follow shortly.

Re: Dell D531 and OptiPlex 755 Install Issues

It was on the laptop. Tried it with the newer DB 68568 Boot Disc and had the same issues. Here is a pic of the BSOD and the BT log. BSOD http://imgur.com/6i0hP80 BT Log http://imgur.com/trg6Aqg Hope I got the information you were needing. BSOD happens after "Installing Devices" starts. It ...

Re: Dell D531 and OptiPlex 755 Install Issues

Thanks for the help! Live CD DB 68440 boots and runs on the lappy but only boots on the desktop. Bootloader gets stuck when attempting to load SWENUM.SYS. I will test the install CD of the same version and report back with my findings! Update: Boot/Install CD fails to open the installer on the deskt...

Dell D531 and OptiPlex 755 Install Issues

I'm unable to run ROS on both computers with both the Live CDs and the Install CDs. I'm able to boot from the disc but when I select install or run the screen goes black remains that way until I reboot the computer. It seems like it's a driver issue but I'm not sure. The lappy has an ATI Radeon X127...

Re: [IDEA] Hotspot functinality

Are you wanting this to be an included functionality of ReactOS? Or are you wanting the OS to simply be compatible with software of this type? I don't think there's any reason for the former to be included honestly. The latter is already a goal of ReactOS simply because it's Windows software.

Re: Dell Latitude D531

D531 has also been purchased! I now will have both a desktop and laptop with which to test ROS :) Do we have any ROS stickers? I'd love a large sticker to throw on the back of the laptop screen.

I don't know how OSes threat the SSDs but If they're different than HDD then you should go for HDD since HDD is priority and SSD support is (still) not. Shouldn't be any different due to using the same IDE/SATA connection and same file format (Fat32). Just didn't know if anybody had done it. I supp...

I just read through the entire article. It has literally nothing to do with ROS. Why would you even post that here?

I'm considering this one. Not sure if I want to opt for used or refurbished. Has anybody upgraded the RAM or upgraded the HDD to an SSD on theirs and still gotten it to work okay with ROS?

Re: Testing Computers

Thank you everybody for the input! I went ahead and placed the order for the OptiPlex! The hardware seemed to match that of most of the machines in the list showing to be operable. I also will keep my eyes open for a Latitude D531 as mentioned in the other post! You guys are awesome(:
