you actually don't get anything more than a basic theme selector, clicking a .theme file in explorer does as much. the Plus! I had with windows 95 not only offered a preview but also a list of checkboxes on the right which allowed to select theme components (wallpaper, colors, sounds, pointers etc.)...

the linux, DOS subsystems and other things are for the most part long-term wishes :)
I'm on dial-up too, that sucks. but I'm not against the few things you mention, I don't mind solitaire, winemine and a shortcut to downloading firefox as long as they don't take much space.

yes, I'm behind a proxy, and in dorm student I'll be under a proxy as well.

a quick tutorial on networking would be nice also, I run it under QEMU for now and can't ping the other physical PC (or my physical PC, but I don't know how it's supposed to be)

so, you get back to what the physicist proposed : mov eax,[ebp-0x4] mov ebx,[ebp-0x8] mov [ebp-0x4],ebx mov [ebp-0x8],eax if you could do mov [ebp-0x4],[ebp-0x8] there wouldn't be any purpose for xchg, no? please note I never did any x86 asm, only simple asm for an academical very simple 1 bit CPU a...

I like that! and I agree a colorful version would be used along a theme. it could be part of the theme itself, even. So you won't be forced to have Luna style shutdown when you use something different. Adding the underlined letters is nice, that's a keyboard friendly window (either use arrow keys, o...

um, ok I understand about the "are you sure", it's dumb in general, that's me using classic logon so an accidental click on logoff in the start menu would suck. what could be done would be the same basic window but with logoff, switch user, lock and cancel buttons. and another window for s...

There won't be all that many services shipped with ROS. Most things will be available as addons. Thus you will install a base system, and will build up your own environment as you install software. People installing OOo, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc, will obviously be building up a desktop environment...
