trying to understand thread scheduling
I have always wondered why on multi-core systems a single thread gets moved between cpu cores even though there are enough resources to run(stay) on a specific core. does it do this just to even out execution across all cores? isn't switching between cpu cores costly because it has to reload registe...

Re: freeze at Loading System Hive
I am proud to say Rufus worked. I did not succeed in booting to desktop but get as far as loading drivers which then freezes at NDIS.sys. Rufus also has an option for checking bad blocks so i'll give that a try along with trying another flash drive. I firstly want to get rid of any errors made by my...

Theres nothing under C:\ReactOS ? No. I chose "ReactLive" from the GRUB menu; does this option support debug logging to a file? I compiled from the latest revision. My freeldr.ini file might be of some use: [FREELOADER] DefaultOS=LiveCD_Debug TimeOut=5 [Display] TitleText=ReactOS LiveCD StatusBarCo...

Re: freeze at Loading System Hive
My apologies for an untimely reply.
I am unable to produce a debug log. I tried the "ReactOS (Log file)" option in the boot menu but after i restart and check the flash drive there is no debug.log file.

Instead of just freezing like it did before it displays a message saying "Loading system hive failed!" which also gives me the option to restart if i press ENTER. The method i used previously jus...

Re: freeze at Loading System Hive
ReactOS 0.3.15 Live CD. I loaded it onto a usb stick using YUMI (Multiboot USB Creator) using the "Unlisted ISO" and "Unlisted ISO from RAM" options. ROS freezes trying to boot.
Also, what is difference between the Installation CD and the Live CD? Are they any different in terms of stability?
