Re: Viruses?

Read - https://reactos.org/wiki/ReactOS_FAQ#My_Anti-Virus_claims_that_ReactOS_has_a_virus The OP could have found that answer himself. Why didn't he? (1) Didn't try. (2) The ReactOS web site's home page lacks a "Help" or "FAQ, Frequently Asked Questions" link. (3) The ReactOS web site has a FAQ in ...

Re: Test of Reactos Live fails

I have an old Lenovo T440 which cannot be upgraded to Windows 10.... I decided to try Reactos. ...I downloaded the "Live" .iso and booted... to the "debug' version and the boot never finished. Does this web page https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd005598/?cid=us correctly describe your L...

Re: Hi, how about reactOS for servers?

ReactOS aims to... NT5 (Server 2003) as its main target.... Microsoft Server 2003 is effectively a superset of Microsoft Windows XP. Server 2003 includes necessary server features that Windows XP lacks. Experimenters can configure ReactOS as a server or as a workstation. However at the present time...

Re: What is Exactly Flowchart of C Course

You spoke well of the book, TVA. There are other books with similar titles, I wanted to be sure which book you described. After the libraries in my region of California re-open I wish to obtain a copy to study.

Think about this for a second though; what would a virus hidden in an OS be infecting? The OS itself? To what end?
Good point. As Raymond Chen of Microsoft would say, malicious code in the OS is already on the other side of the airtight hatchway so such code doesn't need a virus to smuggle it in.

Refer to our Build Environment page for information on how to compile ReactOS from the source.
Study the Build Environment page. Then follow the instructions in that page's Next Steps topic.

Many routine questions can be answered by browsing the ReactOS Wiki (ReactOS Development Wiki).

Re: Hardware for ReactOs?

What would be most fitting brands/hardware for this OS? If you want your testing to go well then choose XP or Vista era hardware as the typical combinations of hardware from that time are more likely to work with ReactOS. Later, more modern technology is best put to use running ReactOS in a VM as i...

Re: Dual booting with separate hdd

In the past, I used my PC for building and testing ReactOS. That PC had two hard disk drives. One drive was my "real data drive". I used it as my Microsoft Windows XP drive. The other drive was exclusively for use with ReactOS. I always disconnected the power from the "real data drive" when using Re...

ReactOS very likely made sense in 2000. After all, it's meant to run Windows 2000 programs.
How did lol_xD conclude ReactOS is "meant to run Windows 2000 programs"?
This ReactOS Wiki page describes ReactOS. Did the page become difficult for newcomers to find?
